Today's Xilong Village, Guoli Town, Huantai County, Zibo City, Shandong Province, also had a resounding red name "Zhiye Village" in that era, which was named by the Bohai Naval Region of the Eighth Route Army in August 1946 to commemorate the "lone hero" Li Zhiye, who had made great achievements in battle, and after Li Zhiye, who was the commander of the second company and three platoons of the first battalion of the special agent regiment of the Bohai Naval Region, died in the battle to liberate the county town of Jiyang (present-day Jiyang District, Jinan), the Bohai Naval Region named his hometown after him, and also named the East Street of Jiyang County, where he died "Zhiye Street", but today the place name no longer exists. "Lone hero" Li Zhiye: Single-handedly broke into the stronghold and stabbed 8 puppet soldiers to death, capturing 1 battalion of equipment

Born in 1924 in Xilong Village, Huantai County, Shandong Province, Li Zhiye experienced a difficult life under the warlord scuffle and the trampling of the Japanese Kou iron hooves since he was a child. In the summer of 1940, in order to implement the policy of strengthening public order in the occupied areas, the Japanese Kou sent a large number of traitors to arrest civilians to build a stronghold for them, and Li Zhiye, who was only 16 years old, suffered and became one of them. Don't look at Li Zhiye's young age, but he is very astute, how can he honestly build a bunker for the Japanese Kou, on the way to the stronghold Li Zhiye found an opportunity to escape, ran to join the Eighth Route Army, and became a soldier in the guard company of the third detachment of the Shandong Column of the Eighth Route Army.

Li Zhiye, who hated the Japanese Kou, was very active in fighting wars, and he was not afraid of sacrifice and dared to charge, and a sentence he often hung on his lips was: "We must be tenacious in fighting wars, and we should rather advance by one foot than retreat by one inch." From joining the army in 1940 to the end of the War of Resistance in August 1945, for more than 5 years, he participated in no less than 30 battles of various sizes such as Zhang Xu, Niu Wangzhuang, Yuhuangtang, Daoxu, shouguangcheng, etc., and suffered 5 serious injuries; especially in the summer of 1944, in the battle of Zhang Xu, he showed particular heroism, in order to eliminate a company of the 27th regiment of the pseudo-security army

Single-handedly broke into the Japanese and pseudo strongholds, stabbed 8 puppet troops to death in succession, won the title of "lone hero", and soon after the war, he was promoted to platoon leader by his superiors.

After the end of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression in 1945, in the face of many Japanese puppet armies that continued to resist and refused to surrender to the Eighth Route Army, the Eighth Route Army gave a severe blow.

Li Zhiye led the 3rd platoon to fight more than 20 battles in 8 months, and none of them were defeated.

He was composed, witty, clever and courageous, not afraid of sacrifice, and could climb the walls of more than 7 meters high to destroy the enemy's turrets;

With the equipment of the "Millet Plus Rifle", he captured various types of artillery (6 guns), light and heavy machine guns (5), rifles (320) and other weapons of the Japanese puppet army, and according to statistics, during this period, he captured a total of about 1 battalion of the enemy's equipment.

In the summer of 1946, in order to control the Jiaoji Railway line and facilitate the attack on the Bohai Liberated Area, Wang Yaowu, chairman of the Kuomintang Shandong Province, ordered the capture of Jiyang, the southern gate of the Bohai Liberated Area.

In order to resolutely repel the nationalist offensive and re-liberate Jiyang, at 10:00 p.m. on July 16, 1946, Yuan Yelie, commander of the Bohai Naval Region, commanded the 1st Regiment, the 2nd Regiment, and the Cavalry Brigade of the Bohai Naval Region, and with the cooperation of more than 1,500 militiamen, launched a fierce attack on the 106th Regiment of the Kuomintang 36th Division and the pseudo-Jiyang County Garrison Brigade in Jiyang City.

The battle was extremely fierce, and although the 106th Regiment of the enemy's 36th Division was gradually defeated and retreated under the attack of the People's Liberation Army, it also launched a fierce counterattack and even called in aircraft to assist in the battle. When the soldiers of the first battalion fought from the East Gate to the vicinity of Little Cross Street, they encountered fierce resistance from the enemy, and in the street battle

Three Kuomintang planes also came to help in the battle

The attack of the first battalion was suppressed, and the 2nd Battalion of the 106th Regiment of the Kuomintang immediately organized a counterattack to try to drive the People's Liberation Army out of the East Gate, and at the critical moment, Li Zhiye, a platoon commander of the 3rd Platoon of the 1st Battalion, 2nd Company, who was lying on the roof, picked up his machine gun and directly began to strafe at the enemy, finally suppressing the enemy's attack.

Later, Li Zhiye learned from the captives that there was an enemy arsenal in front of him, so he volunteered to lead 3 soldiers to explore the way and cover the charge of the large army. He knocked out 3 enemy fire points in a row, successfully seized the roof, and waved his hand to let the large troops behind him go up,

At this moment, a bullet passed through his right chest; a generation of "lone heroes" who had achieved great success in battle died heroically, at the age of 22.

At 9 o'clock on July 17, Jiyang was re-liberated, and the Kuomintang 106th Regiment was annihilated by more than 1,500 people, leaving only the regimental commander Yang Peizhi and the national pseudo-Jiyang County governor Li Guangyang fleeing back to Jinan with dozens of people.
