Among them, the growth rate of imports and exports to ASEAN has slowed down, while the growth of other major trading partners has remained, and the import and export of private and state-owned enterprises have grown steadily.

In 2021, Yunnan exported 176.67 billion yuan, an increase of 16.3% year-on-year; imports of 137.71 billion yuan, an increase of 17.3% year-on-year; and a trade surplus of 38.967 billion yuan. Yunnan general trade import and export of 230.12 billion yuan, an increase of 20.9% year-on-year. Border trade imports and exports were 41.39 billion yuan, down 16.2% year-on-year. The import and export of bonded logistics was 9.27 billion yuan, an increase of 289.6% year-on-year.

In addition, Yunnan's imports and exports to ASEAN amounted to 124.29 billion yuan, an increase of 1% year-on-year, an increase of 6.7 percentage points smaller than that of the previous year. Among them, the import and export of Myanmar and Vietnam was 46.42 billion yuan and 33.78 billion yuan respectively, down 17.1% and 3.9% respectively year-on-year; the import and export of Thailand, Malaysia and Laos was 12.87 billion yuan, 8.51 billion yuan and 8.43 billion yuan respectively, an increase of 15.3%, 151.8% and 8.5% respectively. In the same period, imports and exports to the United States, Saudi Arabia and Brazil were 20.16 billion yuan, 15.61 billion yuan and 12.22 billion yuan respectively, an increase of 16.5%, 14.5% and 90.8% respectively. Yunnan imported and exported 181 billion yuan and 140.7 billion yuan to countries along the "Belt and Road" and RCEP trading partners respectively, an increase of 7.5% and 5.1% respectively year-on-year.

In 2021, the import and export of private enterprises in the province was 184.54 billion yuan, an increase of 20.5% year-on-year. In the same period, the import and export of state-owned enterprises was 101.15 billion yuan, an increase of 24.1% year-on-year; the import and export of foreign-funded enterprises was 4.03 billion yuan, down 21.6% year-on-year.

Exports of mechanical and electrical and labor-intensive products increased. In 2021, the province exported 63.35 billion yuan of mechanical and electrical products, an increase of 25.2% year-on-year. Exports of labor-intensive products of 28.31 billion yuan, an increase of 36.4% year-on-year, of which the export of plastic products, toys and textiles and clothing increased by 45.6%, 50% and 20.8% respectively. In the same period, exports of agricultural products were 27.92 billion yuan, down 22.6% year-on-year. Imports of agricultural products, mechanical and electrical products, crude oil, and metal ores increased.
