Wang Weiming, director of the First Department of Equipment Industry of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, said at the meeting that in 2021, the sales of new energy vehicles in the mainland reached 3.521 million units, an increase of 1.6 times year-on-year, ranking first in the world for seven consecutive years; the proportion of new passenger cars equipped with combined driving assistance systems reached 20%. At the same time, the innovative achievements are full of highlights, the sustainable development ability is further enhanced, the energy density of the power battery unit is close to 300 Watt-hours / kg, the system energy density is more than 200 Watt-Hours / kg, the intelligent networked vehicle on-board basic computing platform realizes the loading application, and the computing power of the artificial intelligence chip has reached the international advanced level.
Power battery recycling pilot acceptance
Guo Shougang, deputy director of the First Department of Equipment Industry of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, said in response to a question from the media that the mainland achieved the export of 310,000 new energy vehicles throughout the year, an increase of more than 3 times year-on-year, exceeding the total historical cumulative exports. At the same time, the supporting environment for industrial development has also been further optimized, and by the end of 2021, a total of 75,000 charging stations, 2.617 million charging piles, 1,298 replacement power stations, and more than 10,000 power battery recycling service outlets have been set up in 31 provinces and municipalities across the country.
In terms of battery recycling, Wang Weiming said that with the rapid growth of new energy vehicle ownership in the mainland, the amount of power battery decommissioning is also increasing year by year, and it is of great significance to do a good job in the recycling of power batteries, which is of great significance for protecting the ecological environment, improving resource utilization efficiency, and ensuring the healthy and sustainable development of the new energy automobile industry. In recent years, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, together with relevant departments, has issued and implemented a series of policies such as the "Interim Measures for the Management of the Recycling and Utilization of New Energy Vehicle Power Batteries", and introduced supporting measures such as the "Administrative Measures for the Cascade Utilization of New Energy Vehicle Power Batteries" to strengthen the traceability management of the whole life cycle of power batteries.
As of the end of December 2021, 173 relevant enterprises have set up 10,127 recycling service outlets in 31 provinces and municipalities across the country, and 45 echelon and recycling backbone enterprises have actively played a leading role in demonstration, and the power battery recycling system has been initially established.
Wang Weiming said that in the next step, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will conscientiously implement the "New Energy Vehicle Industry Development Plan (2021-2035)" in accordance with the decision-making and deployment of the Party Central Committee and the State Council, and work with relevant departments to promote the following work:
First, accelerate the study and formulation of the "New Energy Vehicle Power Battery Recycling Management Measures" and increase the regulatory binding force.
The second is to study and establish a linkage mechanism for the control and control of power battery recycling to improve the efficiency of supervision.
The third is to accelerate the introduction of a number of national and industry standards for the recycling of power batteries, and grasp the publicity and implementation of standards.
The fourth is to carry out pilot acceptance of power battery recycling, and select and promote a number of typical models and enterprise case experience.
Looking forward to the automotive market in 2022, total sales growth rate of 5% year-on-year
Fu Bingfeng, executive vice president and secretary general of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, pointed out that the CAAM has made a basic judgment that the Chinese auto market will continue to grow in 2022. Specifically, the total sales of mainland vehicles are expected to reach 27.5 million units in 2022, an increase of about 5% year-on-year.

Fu Bingfeng said that there will be five positive factors in the auto market next year:
First, the long-term macroeconomic fundamentals of the mainland will not change, ensuring the sustained growth of the automobile market.
Second, the automobile market has great potential and demand is still strong. With the deepening of supply-side reforms, mainland automobile production and sales will continue to grow.
Third, the normalization of epidemic prevention and control, the market impact brought by the epidemic has gradually weakened.
Fourth, with the gradual easing of chip shortages, the supply capacity of automobiles will be further released.
Fifth, the market demand for new energy vehicles is strong, further promoting the steady growth of automobile consumption.
