Mou's Manor is located in Qixia City, Yantai. If Yantai apples are well-known throughout the country, then Qixia apples are the kings of Yantai apples. Qixia also won the title of "Apple Capital of China" and even built a park for Apple.
More than 500 meters away from Apple Park, it is the largest landlord's manor in the north - Mou's Manor. When the Mou family was most prosperous, it owned 60,000 mu of land, 120,000 mu of mountains, and 153 tenant villages, and was a famous large landowner in Jiaodong and the country. Mou's Manor is also together with Kang Million Manor and Liu's Manor, and is called the three major manors in China.
The manor was built in 1735, that is, during the Yongzheng period of the Qing Dynasty, after 200 years of continuous addition, expansion and repair, and finally formed the current scale in 1935, covering a total area of more than 20,000 square meters, with more than 480 pavilions, it is the largest and most complete preserved landlord manor in China, known as the "Chinese Folk Small Forbidden City".
When you go to Mu's Manor, the main buildings you visit are Rixin hall, Xizhonglai and Dongzhonglai; Nanzhonglai is now an office space, and Shigutang is a memorial hall. Dong Zhonglai was the residence of Mou Zongyi, the fourth grandson of Mou Molin, a member of the Mou clan, and his living room was now converted into an accounting room and granary for exhibition purposes. Then there was the residence of the two concubines, then the bedroom of Mou Zongyi, then the dining room, and the courtyard where Mrs. Chen lived.
After passing through the accounting room, there is a particularly flat wall to the left, called the hammer wall. This wall is all water mill seams, the stone is polished and smoothed by hand, there is no glue such as mud in the middle, from the appearance, the stone wall is smooth as a mirror.
In order to increase the durability of the material, the green bricks and gray tiles used in the building are soaked with bean juice, which is said to prevent the weathering of the stone bricks. I just don't know how bean juice, a Beijing specialty drink, was discovered by Yantai locals and used in building materials.
It is said that when it was built, the owner activated a unique reward mechanism. In order to encourage the workers to polish and level the stones, the copper coins are stuffed into the stone crevices, and if the workers grind the stones flat and there is no gap between the two stones, the copper coins belong to the workers. Under this encouragement mechanism, the level of craftsmanship of the hammer wall has reached a new height of traditional architecture in China.

In summer, the weather is hot, fish and meat are easy to deteriorate, the cellar temperature is low, put fish, meat and other things in the cellar, you can also extend their shelf life.
But then again, such a rich family can't say anything without hiding some treasures. They hid it, and they hid the silver dollar treasure, a total of 50 of them, in a jar, buried under the earthen kang of the north group house of Rixintang. As a result, it was discovered in 1979, when the Mou manor had long been nationalized, and the Mou family was useless.
