One day 150 years ago, a 62-year-old man, feeling that time was running out, wrote this sentence in his diary that night:
"Yu Tong has been a native for more than thirty years, and he has been an official of the highest quality, but he has achieved nothing in his studies, has no permission for virtue, and the old man is injured, and he is terrified and ashamed."
Three days later, the old man died.
Later, this passage appeared in both the Diary of Zeng Guofan and the Book of Commandments of Zeng Guofan.
Even zeng guofan, when he died, still felt that he had great regrets in this life.
Understanding this regret of Zeng Guofan, perhaps we can truly understand Zhuangzi's pursuit.
In "The Getaway", Zhuangzi wrote about the bird's ridicule of Dapeng:
"And Xi Shiye? I leap up, but a few bucks down, soaring between the basil, and this also flies to the other, and the other xi shi also? ”
Next he wrote about people, three completely different categories of people.
"The old husband knows that he is an official, and his deeds are better than those of a township, and he who is united in virtue and one king and conquers a country also regards himself as well."
This is the first category, people who live in their sleep, whose deeds in the world are large and small, large enough to hold the power of a country.
But in Zhuangzi's view, in a higher dimension, they are not fundamentally different from ignorant insects and birds.
This is the reason why Zeng Guofan, who has studied Lao Zhuang deeply, was afraid and ashamed before he died!
These dreamers often make Song Rongzi laugh.
"The world praises without persuasion, the world does not discourage, the distinction between inside and outside, and the situation of honor and disgrace"
Song Rongzi, this person, even if the whole world praises him, he does not feel excited; the whole world slanders him, he does not feel depressed, and he knows the boundary between inside and outside, honor and disgrace, very clearly.
Song Rongzi is a person who lives in the inner world and does not compare with anyone.
In addition, there is a famous Liezi, Zhuangzi wrote that he can walk against the wind, very cool and powerful.
However, in Zhuangzi's eyes, Song Rongzi and Liezi were only half-finished products of evolution. Since Song Rongzi laughed at people, it showed that he still had delusional attachments in his heart; Liezi walked against the wind, indicating that he still needed the external realm of "wind".
So they belong to the second category of people: people who are half asleep and half awake.
Such people are also very rare in history.
The third category of people whose consciousness has evolved to a higher dimension is the rarer "enlightened one."
They "take advantage of the righteousness of heaven and earth, and the debate of the six qi, to swim infinitely", which is the real liberation.
At the level of inner cultivation, they have no self; at the level of creation, they are useless; at the level of entry into the world, they are nameless. This is called "the supreme man has no self, the god man has no merit, and the saint has no name."
Therefore, Emperor Yao gave the position of The Son of Heaven to the hermit Xu You, and Xu Yu of course did not do it. He said:
"The wren nests in the deep forest, but one branch; the rat drinks the river, but the belly is full. Return to the king, and give useless to the world. ”
Yes, the person whose consciousness has evolved to a higher dimension is already perfect, and nothing can make him more.
The god man of the Mountain of Defiance is such an image:
"The mountain of defiance, inhabited by gods and men, the skin is like ice and snow, like a virgin; does not eat grain, sucks wind and drinks dew; rides on the clouds, the royal dragon, and swims away from the sea; its gods are condensed, so that things are not flawed and ripe." ...... People are also wounded by things: the great immersion of the sky without drowning, the great drought of the golden stone flow, the earth and the mountains scorched but not hot. ”
Obediently, this person soars through the clouds, the water and drought do not hurt, but also make all things unharmed, every year the grain is abundant, you say that there is such a god and man in the world? This is not "Journey to the West"!
Of course, the external physical world is impossible, no one has such a supernatural power, this is not scientific!
But Zhuangzi's "god man" is essentially a person whose consciousness has evolved to a higher dimension, and in that mysterious inner world, he has achieved "no self" and achieved unity with the Tao.
A "selfless" person, who can really hurt him?
A person who is one with the Tao, what the Tao does, is naturally what he can do.
Zhuangzi is not talking nonsense, it's just that you and I are dreamers and can't understand it.
Zhuangzi's three types of people are three realms of life, there is no good or bad, just a choice!
Next, it is Zhuangzi's turn to play out, and the debate master will give Zhuangzi the harshest questioning, forcing Zhuangzi to tell the final truth of the "Getaway".
