Apple's new processor M2, M1Q exposure: maximum 40-core CPU + 128-core GPU

Heading into 2022, Apple's idea of fully migrating the Mac to Apple Silicon is coming to an end, and new products to achieve this goal are expected to include the MacBook Pro, Mac Pro, and iMac, among others.

Whistleblower Dylandkt gave the news that the Mac Pro will be the last Mac computer to switch to Apple Silicon, but it is not equipped with M2 or other replacement processors, but still M1 epitaxial products, but has more cores than M1 Max.

At present, M1 Max is used on the 2021 14-inch/16-inch MBP, with a maximum of 10 core CPU + 32 core GPU + 16 core NPU, but previous analysis has found that M1 Max reserves a redundant design for multi-chip (MCM) interconnection, supporting stacking more violent core scale.

For example, the maximum 40-core CPU + 128-core GPU, the corresponding product is called M1 Quadra or M1 Pro Max, surpassing the current Mac Pro's highest 28-core Intel processor (Xeon W-3275M). Of course, even the dual-core "M1 Max Duo" has a 20-core CPU + 64-core GPU.

In addition, the M2 processor has not been cut, but will be used in the second half of 2022 14-inch MacBook Pro, it will replace the first time with M1 13-inch MBP, after all, the current 13-inch MBP still uses the Intel version of the mold.

Regarding M2, only the GPU size is now known to be 10 cores, and the CPU and NPU details have yet to be further surfaced.
