Apple has just released a new professional computer model, the Mac Studio, which we just reported the other day, and its official appearance is earlier than we expected. As a compact professional machine, the machine is positioned between the Macbook Pro/iMac Pro and the Mac Pro, which is the earlier legendary mini version of the Mac Pro, and in fact, according to Apple, it is more powerful than the top Mac Pro!

The Mac Studio is powered by the M1 Max or M1 Ultra chip. The M1 Max, which we are all familiar with, is already available on the MacBook Pro released last year, offering a 10-core CPU, a 24- to 32-core graphics processor, and a 16-core neural network engine that supports up to nine simultaneous streams of 8K ProRes.
The M1 Ultra is the latest chip to be unveiled, a combination of two M1 Max that doubles performance and offers a 20-core CPU, 48 to 64-core graphics processors, and a 32-core neural engine that can support up to 18 simultaneous playback of up to 8K ProRes video streams.
Apple claims that no matter which processor you choose, you'll get more performance than the Mac Pro. When powered by the M1 Max, the Mac Studio is 50% faster than the 16-core Mac Pro. When equipped with the M1 Ultra, it is 90% faster than the 16-core Mac Pro, and even 60% faster than the top 28-core Mac Pro.
Mac Studio's graphics processing power is also more powerful, with M1 Max and M1 Ultra rendering speeds of 2.5 times and 3.5 times faster than mac Pro (Radeon Pro W5700X), respectively, when running Final Cut Pro. When running DaVinci Resolve Studio, effects render 8% faster than the Mac Pro mentioned above (M1 Max) and 90% (M1 Ultra).
As we reported earlier, the Mac Studio's design is based on the Mac Mini, the height of the fuselage has increased, but it is still less than 10 centimeters, and the overall size is still quite mini, which is a size that traditional workstations can't imagine. How to dissipate heat from such a small fuselage is a concern for users, and Apple claims that it is equipped with an innovative cooling system, combined with a unique double-sided fan, which sucks air from the bottom and discharges it from the rear. Thanks to the high efficiency of the M1 series chips, the burden on the fan and cooling system is not heavy, and the system is very quiet.
In terms of memory, Mac Studio offers 32GB and 64GB options, and if you want to choose a top configuration of 128GB, only the M1 Ultra version supports it.
Mac Studio's interface is also very rich, reaching the level of a professional machine. It has a total of 12 high-performance interfaces, two USB-C/Thunderbolt 4 ports and an SDXC card slot on the front of the fuselage.
On the back, there are four Thunderbolt 4 ports, a 10Gb Ethernet port, two USB-A ports, an HDMI port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Mac Studio can connect up to four Pro Display XDR displays and a large 4K TV, more than enough for professional applications in top post-studios.
Apple also launched a new display, studio Display. The display features a 27-inch 5K Retina display with a built-in 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera and studio-grade three-microphone array, as well as a six-speaker system. Studio Display can form a complete desktop system with Mac Studio.
In terms of price, mac studio beggar version starts from 14999, M1 Max chip plus 32GB ram and 512G SSD. The top version costs 59999 yuan, and the highest configuration of M1 Ultra plus 128GB of memory and 8TB SSD. However, it should be noted that the above price does not include monitors and keyboards and mice, and needs to be purchased separately.
The standard glass version of the Studio Display starts at 11499 yuan and the nano textured glass version from 13499 yuan, and comes standard with a choice of tilt-adjustable bracket or VESA bracket converter, of course, you can also add money to change the bracket with height adjustment function.
Users who have just started with mac pro don't know what to feel, the mac studio top price is only equivalent to the entry price of mac pro, and the former is claimed to be more powerful.
