How to overhead boss? Han Feizi teaches you five moves to win

(Zhao Gao)

preface

The so-called overhead boss is to make him his own daily puppet and become the leader behind the scenes.

In history, there are countless powerful ministers who are overhead superiors, such as Huo Guang in the Western Han Dynasty, Cao Cao in the Three Kingdoms period, and Zhang Juzheng in the Ming Dynasty.

And Cao Cao's heavenly son is the most worthy of reference by the princes in the workplace, which can be said to be the highest realm of the air, empty of his position, holding real power, no false name but real profit.

And all these powerful ministers and real power factions, their methods and methods of overhead superiors, are nothing more than the five moves proposed by Han Feizi.

1. If the subject closes his Lord, the Lord loses his place

If the subject closes his master, he loses his position. The gist is that the subordinates close the eyes and ears of the monarch, and the monarch loses his position of looking down on the world.

In layman's terms, it is to control and close the boss's information channels, such as the boss's information can only be obtained from you, or the information obtained by the boss is processed by you and want him to know.

Zhao Gao controlled Hu Hai of Qin II, and this was how he operated. He encouraged Qin II to dispose of the members of the clan and dispose of the chancellor Li Si, thereby cutting off possible sources of information for Qin II.

At the same time, Zhao Gao induced Qin II to live in the imperial palace and indulge in eroticism, making himself the only source of information for the chancellor and Qin II.

In this way, Zhao Gao directly closed Hu Hai's eyes and ears, filtered out all the information that was unfavorable to himself, and eliminated all those who did not obey him, becoming the real behind-the-scenes leader of the Great Qin Dynasty.

Therefore, many emperors in the back have ensured their own information channels by establishing secret service organizations, such as the Ming Dynasty's Jinyi Wei and Dongxi Factory, and even encouraged whistle-blowing, the purpose of which is to avoid information blockage.

Moreover, Tang Xiaozhou, the secretary in the famous official novel "The Second Chief", is actually a person who can control the information turnover of superiors and subordinates, thus gaining power.

Back in the contemporary workplace, as long as we can be information hubs, we can become actual power holders. That is to say, we must occupy the channels of information transmission as much as possible, which is the best way to gain power.

2. If the subject is rich, the Lord loses his morality

This refers to the fact that when subordinates control the wealth of the country, the monarch loses the grace to buy people's hearts with profits. In other words, whoever controls the source of wealth or the main business has the power to buy people's hearts.

Like the Three Kingdoms we are familiar with, Emperor Xiandi of Han and his courtiers once could hardly even eat, and they had no choice but to defect to Cao Cao and move to Xuchang, the fundamental reason was that they had no money, and in order to survive, they had to be controlled by Cao Cao.

Therefore, if a person can control the source of wealth, he has the power to control the boss.

In the current workplace, the most common is the business elite and the main business department, most of them are the real power of the unit, because most of the income of the unit comes from these people and these businesses.

They have the confidence and power to pat the table with the leader, and even often can see and hear, some people directly pull away the team and stand on their own.

3. If the subject acts arbitrarily, the lord loses control

When subordinates give orders without authorization, the monarch loses control of the orders. That is, subordinates exceed their authority to give orders, and over time everyone will only recognize the person who gives the order.

Han Feizi once wrote an example of Han Zhaohou killing DianGuan (the person who managed the hat).

Once, when Han Zhaohou fell asleep after getting drunk, the men in charge of the monarch's hat, worried that he was cold, covered him with clothes.

Han Zhaohou was very happy when he woke up, so he asked the people around him who helped him cover his clothes. The people on the left and right replied that it was the men in charge of the hat.

Subsequently, Han Zhaohou punished both his men who managed clothes and hats. Everyone was puzzled by this and did not understand why the pawn was punished.

Han Zhaohou explained, "I punished the official because he was derelict in his duties, and the official because he exceeded his authority. It's not that I'm not afraid of catching a cold, but I think that the two things of overstepping power and dereliction of duty are more terrible and worse than catching a cold. I hope you understand my intentions. ”

Therefore, to exceed power is to arbitrarily order, that is, to steal power from subordinates.

And Han Feizi also believes that those who exceed their authority die. In fact, it is afraid that the subordinates will do things without authorization, and the leaders will gradually be emptied because they have no sensitivity, and the power will fall by the wayside.

The same is true in the workplace, where many people make decisions without actually reporting for the benefit of the organization. Often, even if there is merit, it will be criticized, although psychologically unconvinced, but this violates the taboo of leadership.

Because it is difficult or impossible for subordinates to distinguish whether it is someone else who has overstepped his power without authorization or the real decision of the leader.

4. If a subject acts righteously, the Lord is blind

If a subordinate can practice benevolence and righteousness and gain fame, the monarch will lose his holiness, the essence of which is that the subordinates buy people's hearts.

When Niu Gensheng worked in the Yili Group, he would share his interests with his subordinates at every turn, such as donating more than the boss Zheng Junhuai, distributing money or changing a good car.

This invisibly touched the sensitive nerves of the boss Zheng Junhuai, and also caused Zheng's vigorous suppression, and finally Niu Gensheng was expelled from the Yili Group.

Of course, after the establishment of Mengniu, Niu Gensheng almost hollowed out the top elite of the Yili Group, and they were all willing to follow Niu Gensheng to the poor.

Why? It is because Niu Gensheng has bought the hearts of many people.

Therefore, buying people's hearts and minds is an act that any powerful person will do and do, and the purpose is to form their own power and use righteousness to gather the masses, such as Wang Mang, who sells fame and reputation.

And sensitive leaders understand and pay attention to grace from above. For example, Liu Bang dealt with Xiao He for no reason.

5. If a subject gains a tree, the Lord loses the Party

The subordinates can form gangs and cultivate henchmen, and the monarch really becomes a loner. That is to say, the people below are all complicit, and the leader will become an empty shell.

It can be said that the personnel power is the greatest power of the leader. If you put it down, there will be no one of your own below.

Like Cao Cao blackmailing Tianzi to order the princes, after the regime was stabilized, he vigorously cracked down on dissidents, and Emperor Xian of Han could not even keep his pregnant wife in the end, because no one listened to him.

Then there was Sima Yi in the Cao Wei period, who also slowly cultivated his own power through continuous promotion and appointment of talents, especially after the Coup d'état of Gaopingling, the Cao family became the Liu family, and also became Sima Yi's puppet.

6. Summary

To sum up, if you want to gain power and become a real power faction, you can start from the above five aspects, as long as you succeed, the superior leader will lose power.

Of course, if you are already a leader, you must pay attention to prevention from these five aspects, so as not to be really used and overhead by your subordinates.
