At the 4th Haikou International New Energy and Intelligent Connected Vehicle Exhibition held recently, the first model equipped with Changan Blue Whale iDD hybrid system UNI-K iDD opened pre-sale, and the official pre-sale price of the two models was 176,900-19.29 million yuan.

This indicates that the Blue Whale iDD hybrid system built by Changan Automobile is also about to enter the actual combat stage, and it will compete fiercely with BYD DM-i Super Hybrid, Great Wall Lemon DHT Hybrid Platform, Chery Kunpeng DHT and so on.

It is understood that the Blue Whale iDD hybrid system equipped with UNI-K iDD is composed of four parts: blue whale NE 1.5T hybrid special engine, blue whale triple-clutch electric drive transmission, large-capacity PHEV battery and iDD intelligent control system.

The 30.74kWh large-capacity battery makes the UNI-K iDD NEDC pure electric cruising range reach 130km, and in the event of traffic congestion, the vehicle will automatically use pure electric mode to drive, greatly reducing fuel consumption. During the entire driving process, the UNI-K iDD uses electricity in the initial stage, and the Blue Whale NE 1.5T hybrid special engine is involved at medium and high speeds, which saves 40% compared with the traditional fuel vehicle of the same level, and the comprehensive cruising range of NEDC reaches 1100km.

In the hybrid oil-electric drive mode (HEV), UNI-K iDD can also rely on intelligent energy management of all road conditions to achieve energy recovery and extend pure electric travel time.

In terms of special configuration, UNI-K iDD provides users with i-X built-in preset mode, and users can customize the power mode according to their needs. Including the "surging power" mode and the new one-click "rest mode" function, the latter is equipped with a 3.3kW high-power external discharge function, which is convenient for users to use coffee machines, juicers, hot pots and other takeaway camping life appliances when camping.

As the first hybrid model under UNI, Changan's high-end product sequence of passenger cars, UNI-K iDD is a representative model of Changan Automobile's new generation of hybrid technology. There are many deeper reasons for its launch.

From the perspective of the dynamic evolution direction of the overall domestic automobile market, fuel power is facing a situation of gradual elimination, and pure electric models have always had many problems such as high purchase costs, short mileage, and imperfect energy infrastructure. Hybrid models, as a transition between the two, have certain advantages in terms of purchase cost and use cost.

However, the core technology of hybrid models has always been in the hands of Japanese car companies, and car companies represented by Toyota and Honda have been relatively mature in the research and development of hybrid technology.

Forced by the huge pressure of direct transformation to pure electric models and the requirements of national environmental protection policies, in recent years, many domestic independent brands are increasing the research and development of hybrid technology. Up to now, a number of BYD models using DM-i super hybrid technology have been listed and initially successful; Geely, Great Wall, Chery, Dongfeng, etc. are actively laying out the hybrid market.

In this context, the original pattern of the domestic hybrid market is being broken, and more and more car companies have joined the market and gradually pushed the market into a red sea. In this regard, Guotai Junan Securities pointed out in the research report that compared with the previous generation of domestic hybrid models, the new generation of products has overcome the fuel consumption problem and driving smoothness problem in the state of power loss, and the difference between the price and the same level of fuel vehicles has dropped from the initial 60,000-80,000 to 1-20,000, regardless of the purchase cost or the later use cost has greater advantages and attractiveness. Under the further impetus of national policies, a new generation of hybrid models is about to explode.
