The second half of the story of the chiseled wall borrowing light

Text/Guan see Anchor/Zhang Bin

A few days ago, I chatted with a colleague and said that my public account has not written a historical story for a long time.

I said that historical stories are really difficult to write, first of all, we must try to do "every word has a source", so it takes a lot of time to check the information, and secondly, many familiar historical stories have been written again, and some themes are too niche, afraid that readers are not interested.

Colleagues told me: "Because it is difficult to write, there are more people to expect." ”

I don't know if there will be more people to expect, but at least someone is expecting it, so I will try to write as much as possible after that.

Many times, we usually know only one side of a person's understanding, that is because it is often only a story or an aspect of the story, such as the familiar Kong Rong Let pear, leaving everyone with the impression that:

Kong Rong is a person who has known how to be humble since childhood.

But what happened to Kong Rong after that, few people know.

Today we will tell a similar story, the protagonist of this story, everyone must know, that is, the balance of "chiseling the wall to borrow light".

When we were in elementary school, the chiseled wall borrowed light was into the textbook, I don't know if there is any in the current textbook, but there must still be many people who know this story.

In order to take care of those who have not read this story, I will briefly tell this story.

Liu Xin's "Miscellaneous Records of Xijing" records this: "Kuang Heng studied diligently without candles, and his neighbors had candles but did not catch them, and Heng nai led his light through the wall, and read it with a book reflecting the light." ”

Kuang Heng was a native of the Western Han Dynasty, he was very poor when he was a child, he had to work during the day, and he could only read books at night, but lamp oil was too expensive to light.

He really couldn't do anything, he dug a hole in the wall of the neighbor's house, studied hard through the light that came out of the hole, and later became a generation of great Confucians, officials and prime ministers.

Now the question is, what did he do after he became prime minister?

The words are divided into two ends, one branch each.

There is a saying that everyone must also be familiar with: "Those who commit crimes against strong men will be punished from afar." ”

But who said that? The tone is so big, is it Emperor Wudi of Han? No!

The person who said this sentence was chen tang, a famous general of the Western Han Dynasty, and this sentence was written in his letter to Emperor Yuan of Han, in order to show the emperor that he had killed Zhi Zhidan Yu of the Northern Xiongnu, and it was said after the victory, not before the battle.

The word "ming" in this sentence, here the adjective usage, means "to make them understand."

So the meaning of this sentence is: let those people (barbarians) understand that if they offend the powerful Han Empire, even if they are far away, we will definitely go and kill them.

Well, at this point in the story, the two protagonists of this article are about to collide.

At that time, Kuang Heng was not only a generation of Great Confucians of the Han Dynasty, but also the prime minister of the Han Yuan Emperor.

He already had a certain moral purity, but he was lenient with himself and strict with others.

Kuang Heng and the Grand Eunuch Shi Xian were good friends, and they were extremely flattering.

The "Book of Han and the Biography of Wang Zun" records that "the Gurudwara of the Zhongshu made Shi Xiangui fortunate, and the dictatorship was adulterous. Xiang Kuangheng and Imperial Master Zhang Tan were all afraid of the matter. ”

Judging from this record, Kuang Heng has become a proper traitor.

At this time, Chen Tang, who was in the Return Dynasty of Banshi, was obviously a national hero of the Great Han, but Shi Xian and Kuang Heng were very upset and decided to join forces to get him.

Chen Tang had just returned to Chang'an, and had not yet met the emperor, and Kuang Heng's impeachment of him had long been sent to the desk of Emperor Yuan of Han.

Kuang Heng said this in the recital:

Chen Tang had lost his father in the past, and insisted on fighting on the front line, which was not filial piety.

In this war, Chen Tang falsely preached the holy will, greedily and aggressively, and although he won the battle, he was really unfaithful.

When attacking the city of Zhizhi, it was unjust to divide up all the property in the city and not hand it over to the national treasury.

Kuang Heng said that such an unfaithful, filial piety, and unrighteous person should go to prison, so how can he still be rewarded?

Of course, Chen Tang would not tie his hands and grab it, and he also gave the emperor a Taoist fold:

"Subjects and officials, together with Shan Yu, fortunately captured, wanli zhen brigade, it is advisable to have messengers to meet the road." Imagari's anti-reverse harvest system is tested to avenge Zhi Zhi. ”

This means that I have killed Shan Yu with all my strength, and the imperial court should send someone to meet me, not to arrest me.

Emperor Yuan of Han's ears were relatively soft, and as soon as he heard that it made sense, he let people go, and he also wanted to reward Chen Tang.

Originally, Emperor Yuan of Han's reward for Chen Tang was to reward more than 5,000 households according to the standard of "killing Shan Yu".

Kuang Heng heard the wind and tried his best to stop it, because his own fiefdom only had more than 600 households.

Therefore, the Zhi Zhidan he framed Chen Tang for killing was not really Shan Yu, it was a fake.

In the end, Emperor Yuan of Han compromised and gave Chen Tang guannei Marquis, three hundred households, and a hundred jin of gold.

Later, when Emperor Hancheng ascended to the throne and was very dissatisfied with Quan Castration Shi Xian, The Chancellor Kuang Heng quickly saw the wind and steered the rudder, and together with the imperial master Zhang Tan, he participated in Shi Xian's book, and pushed all the bad things that the three of them had done together before on Shi Xian's head.

In the end, Shi Xian was reduced to a commoner and died of a hunger strike on the way back to his hometown, while Kuang Heng and Zhang Tan continued to enjoy the scenery.

Kuang Heng, who was the chancellor, was still not satisfied, and originally the emperor had given him 310,000 mu of land, but he actually took advantage of his position to get an extra 40,000 mu.

But the good days soon came to an end.

In October of the third year of the founding of the Hancheng Emperor, Zhang Tan, the imperial master who had done bad things with him, was dismissed from office, and two months later, Kuang Heng's embezzlement of 40,000 mu of land was also revealed.

He was raided, dismissed, demoted to a commoner, and eventually lost everything he once had, returning to the hometown where he "chiseled the wall to borrow light" when he was a child, and died of depression within a few years.

The model of the world's readers eventually became the traitors spurned by the people of the world.

This is the real history, this is also the two sides of human nature, but also the change of the years.

May all those who set out return as teenagers.
