Guo Yiqing is 37 years younger than Cheng Qian, but he is single-minded in his husband and son, although Cheng Qian has a cold personality, he also takes good care of his wife, and when he has leisure time, he will accompany his wife to tell children historical stories and literary works, get along very well, and later Cheng Qian died.

After liberation, Guo Yiqing served as a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference for three years, and has been committed to the work of the Women's Federation, she is also a member of the presidium of the first National Women's Joint Congress, and can be said to be a veteran figure of the Women's Federation. After Cheng Qian's death, Guo Yiqing walked alone for 28 Spring and Autumn Festivals, and finally died in Beijing on June 12, 1996, due to illness, at the age of 76. The body of Comrade Guo Yiqing was cremated in Beijing, and the ashes were placed in the Babaoshan Revolutionary Cemetery together with her husband Cheng Qian.
