Recently, Microsoft launched the KB5009566 cumulative update for Windows 11 users. The update focuses on security fixes and improvements. Due to the Christmas holidays and The New Year holidays, Microsoft canceled the release of an optional update last December. If for some reason you are still using the November 2021 patch, you will also get the December 2021 fix for this update.
In terms of security repairs, Windows 11 KB5009566 fixes multiple issues, and Microsoft also recommends that users upgrade.
In addition to the cumulative updates, Microsoft also began rolling out a new Media Player for Windows 11, replacing Groove Music. It's reminiscent of the existing Groove Music and Movies & TV apps, and it appears to be the successor to Groove Music rather than the classic Windows Media Player.
