The new plant in Shanghai of CATL times was put into operation
A few days ago, the new battery factory of CATL began to supply Tesla, which is located in Lingang, Shanghai, only 3km away from Tesla's Shanghai Gigafactory.
According to the previous cooperation agreement signed by the two sides, from January 2022 to December 2025, CATL will continue to provide Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries for Tesla. Tesla has previously released news that all of its standard endurance models will use lithium iron phosphate batteries, and ternary lithium batteries will still be supplied by LG.
At present, Tesla has a total of four models, of which the Model 3 and Model Y have been domestically produced at Tesla's Shanghai Gigafactory. Cataline Times will supply Tesla with lithium iron phosphate batteries for the standard endurance versions of these two models, while the price of model 3 and Model Y standard endurance models is 265,652 yuan and 301,840 yuan, respectively.
