Jin Caifeng, formerly known as Jin Cuifeng, was born in Shanghai in November 1929 in Yin County, Zhejiang Province, and was admitted to the training class of the Snow Sound Troupe in 1946. Later, Jin Caifeng transferred to dongshan yue art society to play Danjiao, together with Lu Ruiying and Ding Saijun, known as the "Dongshan" sanding armor. In the summer of 1951, she entered the Yue Opera Troupe of the East China Opera Research Institute, where she was trained in key training, starring in a number of traditional plays such as "Jade Hairpin", "Panfu Sofu", "Yang Eight Sister Stealing Knives", "Picking Jade Bracelet", "Cai Lou Ji", etc. In 1955, she entered the newly built Shanghai Yue Theater with the troupe.
