The Yue opera "Jade Hairpin" tells a love story with twists and turns. During the Ming Dynasty, the official Shangshu Li Tingfu paired his daughter Xiuying Xu with Yulin, the son of Wang Yu of Hanlin. Xiuying's cousin Gu Wenyou failed to propose marriage, and bought a matchmaker to steal the Li family heirloom jade hairpin, along with a forged love letter, and secretly placed it in the new house on the day of Xiuying's marriage. In Yulin, he suspected xiuying of being unchaste and insulted him in the cold. When Li Tingfu heard that his daughter had been abused, he rushed to the palace to blame him, and Yulin showed a love letter and a jade hairpin to make the truth come out. At this time, Xiuying has been tortured into a disease. Yulin was full of remorse, went to Beijing to go to high school, invited Fengguan Xia to confess to Xiuying, and the two reconciled.

According to the person in charge of the Zhejiang Xiaobaihuayue Opera Troupe, the repertoire performed that night was one of the "youth trilogy" rehearsed by the troupe, "All the actors in this performance are post-80s and 90s, showing the reserve strength and creative talents of our troupe." ”
