As supply chains recover from shortages, Apple is amassing momentum for new product launches in 2022

MacRumors cites a digiTimes report that Apple's supply chain is recovering from shortages, preparing for a series of new product launches in 2022. Previously, due to severe parts shortages and logistical support difficulties, the strong demand for the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro was not fully met. However, the latest news is that demand for iPhone, iPad and MacBook Pro models remains strong, so supply chain partners are expected to remain running at high speeds until February 2022.

Since its release in the fall of 2021, it is said that iPhone 13-related components have experienced a very serious shortage, so much so that Apple has redeployed some components from the iPad production line to prioritize the supply of the iPhone.

The good news is that Apple suppliers began to overcome the related shortages from November to December and gradually resumed normal shipments in early 2022. Sources speaking with DigiTimes revealed that Apple supply chain restrictions are expected to fully recover in the first half of 2022.

With this confidence, Apple has now begun shipping the 14/16-inch MacBook Pro, the sixth-generation iPad mini, and the ninth-generation iPad in bulk.

In addition, there are reports that there are no indications that Apple intends to reduce orders for new equipment components in 2022, indicating that the company is optimistic about the continued production momentum throughout the year.

The report also reiterates Apple's plan to release a third-generation iPhone SE in the first half of this year, believing that this will help suppliers maintain the momentum of shipments through the release of other products.

As assembly partners for the iPhone, Foxconn and Pegatron will benefit the most. At the same time, Apple's PCB suppliers are also replenishing production capacity to complete Apple orders in 2022.

Finally, Apple is expected to release five new Macs, three new Apple Watches, and the first mixed reality (VR) headset in 2022.
