The [movie review] that I want to share today is a 20-year movie calendar that I accidentally turned to while sorting out the clutter, the date is July 19, which is not the time when "Imitation Game" will be released, this is the birthday of the film's male protagonist Benedict Cumberbatch (hereinafter referred to as the roll fu).

The Imitation Game is a biographical film directed by Morten Tedum and starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Kayla Knightley.
The film is based on the biography of Alan Turing, edited by Andrew Hodges, which tells the legendary life of Alan Turing, the "father of computer science", focusing on Turing's experience of helping the Allies decipher the German cryptographic system "Ingmar" and thus turning the tide of World War II.
During World War II, the Allies suffered from the inability of the German cryptographic system "Ingma" to decipher, and the government summoned a group of mathematicians and logicians to work on secret cracking, and Alan Turing was one of them.

When I first knew about this movie, I didn't know anything about the original book, the protagonist was very attractive, and the plot had ups and downs.
So what kind of person is the protagonist of this film?
Alan Turing graduated from King's College, Cambridge, and received a traditional elite intellectual education in Britain. By and large, he has been in a well-protected environment where he can happily live as long as he has scientific problems.
In the original work, it is recorded that Turing was shy and sensitive when he was young, was not good at expressing his feelings in words, and did not understand human feelings after he grew up, and did not know how to use political means to achieve his goals.
In the movie, I saw Turing, played by Roll Fu, and presented the same image: he was buried in his work and could not understand the intention of his colleagues to ask him to eat; he insisted on his own deciphering method, and he rushed to explain to the army leaders who came to inspect him, and he did not even know how to talk well about proposing to his sister.
There are many viewers who have learned about Turing's biography, and seem to be dissatisfied with the adaptation of the film, saying that this is a Sheldon-like portrayal in "The Big Bang Theory", is it not worthy of emotional intelligence for people with high IQ?
But what I saw turing, in the context of his unique story, did not need the intersection of these so-called "human feelings and sophistication", but instead had to do what he liked in his world. His stereotype is not experience in interacting with people, he is a humorous and funny person himself, but hides his emotions in his heart.
If he hadn't died so early, maybe humans would have achieved artificial intelligence long ago.

The Turing I saw was devastated by drugs after being discovered by the government, and the whole person had no spirit, but this is only part of the film.
The real Alan Turing, he probably belongs to the kind of person who never knows how to read the air, always has something to say. Instead, he won the love of his peers and juniors, and he was always surrounded by a group of brain-dead fans when he was at Bletchley Manor. Contrary to the doubts and entanglements about homosexual identity in the movie, Turing never hides his orientation, and when chatting, he simply finds an opportunity to come out with his colleagues.
Unlike the film, although the technologists did not agree with his orientation, they finally accepted him.
In order to cater to whether all viewers accept the setting of the story, the film always distorts the story of the protagonist, more in order to better match the audiovisual language, so that the film becomes complete at the same time, more conflict.
The romantic color of just one line takes Turing's tragic death, which is a small regret of the whole movie, because in the original book, Turing ate an apple stained with cyanide and died at home, leaving only half of the apple that was bitten. The most incredible thing is that when Turing saw the performance of "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" when he was young, he publicly expressed his love for witches and poisonous apples.

There are also many fans who feel that the ending of this scene " super genius is beautiful, calm as sleep " should be written in the adaptation to make Turing's story more romantic.

It won the Best Adapted Screenplay Award at the 87th Academy Awards and 7 nominations including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor and Best Supporting Actress.

It only depicts a short section of Turing's turbulent life, but it can make more people who have never even heard of the name "Turing" understand this great scientist, knowing that it was his work that brought the end of World War II several years earlier.
I saw the restoration of that era in the film, the true portrayal of the Period during World War II, Turing in that era, doing the work that could not be written into the annals of history, and when it finally succeeded, all the achievements had to be burned to ashes, as if this film did not exist.
I always feel that he is a hundred years faster than the people of that era, he is competing with the times, and it also makes us understand the meaning of his existence, which is one of the many reasons why the film won the award.
I only saw his short life, but I always hoped that he would not come to the world of "mediocrity".
