National Energy Conservation Awareness Week

The National Energy Conservation Publicity Week was determined at the Sixth Energy Conservation Office Meeting of the State Council in 1990. Since 1991, the National Energy Conservation Awareness Week has been held annually. In view of the nationwide power shortage, the 2004 National Energy Conservation Publicity Week was changed from November to summer, with the aim of forming a strong publicity momentum and arousing people's awareness of energy conservation during the peak of electricity consumption in summer.

After more than ten years of development and improvement, the National Energy Conservation Publicity Week has developed into a national development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Environmental Protection, the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Commerce, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission, the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television, the Administration of Organs of the State Council, the All-China Federation of Trade Unions, and the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League. Each National Energy Conservation Publicity Week will have its own unique publicity theme and slogan, and combined with the theme to carry out various activities throughout the country, aiming to continuously enhance the "resource awareness", "energy conservation awareness" and "environmental awareness" of the people of the country.
