Foie gras is no stranger to the Chinese food map, and brine foie gras is a well-known braised dish in the Chaoshan region. However, when it comes to "French foie gras", many people may think of keywords such as "French" and "high-end Western restaurants".
In fact, 45% of the world's foie gras is now produced in China. The foie gras that people eat is probably produced in Huoqiu County, Anhui Province. In Huoqiu County, there are more than 100 Langde goose breeding and processing and manufacturing enterprises introduced in France, with an annual production of more than 5,000 tons of foie gras, making it the largest foie gras production base in the country.
At the beginning of this year, the "French foie gras", a native specialty of Huoqiu in Anhui Province, which was only widely known in the "local specialty mapping" on the Internet, has actually been quietly developed in China for more than 20 years. At that time, it was brought in by Hu Jianyuan from a French-invested company in Shandong.
From groping for breeding and cultivation to product promotion, Hu Jianyuan learned to register companies and trademarks, and Huoqiu foie gras also had its own brand, and began to move towards the national market step by step.
In this round of local specialty network boom triggered by Harbin cultural tourism during the Spring Festival this year, all parts of the country have brightened their families, and "Huoqiu Foie Gras" has stood out from many local specialties. The "tall" ingredients and the little-known small county town form a strong "contrast and cuteness". Huoqiu foie gras also ushered in the opportunity to "become famous" with network traffic.

60% of the world's caviar comes from China
The annual output is up to 260 tons
Caviar is a high-end ingredient mostly used in Western cuisine, which is made from the roe of sturgeon. In the past, most of the caviar was produced in France, Belgium and other countries, but today China has become the world's largest producer and exporter of caviar, producing about 260 tons per year, supplying 60% of the global market.
Among them, a caviar production enterprise in Tianquan County, Ya'an, Sichuan Province, produced 60 tons of caviar in 2023, accounting for 23% of the country's production, an industry that originated from the company's sturgeon farming more than a decade ago.
With the help of the local agricultural department, the company has accumulated experience through continuous trial and error, and the local government has also provided technical support for the enterprise, and at the same time innovated and launched the development model of "shared fish pond".

There is also a special agricultural product that is hot out of the circle this year - matcha. In Jiangkou County, Tongren City, Guizhou Province, a small county with a population of less than 100,000, there is the world's largest single matcha refining workshop, and Tongren is also known as the "World Matcha Super Factory".
At present, the production and sales of matcha in Jiangkou County account for a quarter of the country, and the total production and sales volume is the first in the country and the second in the world. In the first quarter of the year, one factory received a record number of orders. Recently, more than 200 tons of orders have been received, and after the orders are produced, they will be sent to more than 30 cities in China and more than 40 countries and regions overseas.
How did Tongren develop matcha into a big industry for global sales? This stems from the fact that more than ten years ago, a customer came here specifically to find matcha raw materials.
In order to make a good matcha, you must first grow tea leaves that meet the requirements. The local Agriculture and Rural Bureau has set up a team of agricultural technical experts to teach technology in the whole chain from seed selection to planting, management and protection to various tea plantation bases.
In 2016, local tea companies began to set up professional R&D teams to study abroad. While applying the technology learned, we made further R&D breakthroughs on this basis, and finally developed a matcha production line with completely independent intellectual property rights.
Now, in addition to the production of matcha, Tongren City has also begun to explore the creation of the whole industry chain of matcha products. The government will build a bridge of cooperation to ensure the output of matcha through the method of "leading enterprises + cooperatives + farmers", and radiate and drive the development of 61 tea-related enterprises and 100,000 tea farmers in 22 counties and districts of the province.
