According to the data, BYD's full line of passenger cars sold 97,990 units in the month, up 77.9% year-on-year. Among them, new energy passenger cars rose 236.4% year-on-year to 92,823 units, exceeding 90,000 units for two consecutive months.
With the release of December data, BYD's annual sales figures for passenger cars in 2021 have also come to light, reaching 730093 units, an increase of 75.4% year-on-year; the annual sales of new energy passenger cars 593745 units, an increase of 231.6% year-on-year.
In terms of sales segmentation, BYD's new energy passenger car sales showed a trend of EV pure electricity and DM hybrid "two legs, walking in tandem". With the support of core technologies such as blade battery, DM-i super hybrid and e-platform 3.0, in December 2021, BYD EV models and DM models sold 48317 and 44506, respectively, an increase of 148.0% and 448.6% year-on-year; during the year, the cumulative sales of BYD EV models and DM models reached 320810 and 272935, respectively, an increase of 144.9% and 467.6% year-on-year.
The flagship model of the Dynasty Car Series, the Han, sold 13,701 units in December, with a cumulative sales volume of more than 117,000 units in the whole year, ranking first in the sales list of medium and large cars of Chinese brands. The all-new generation of Tang, also a flagship model, sold 9,000 in December, nearly doubling year-on-year; during the year, the Tang family recorded sales of 54,204 vehicles.

In December 2021, Qin PLUS DM-i and Qin PLUS EV sold 17286 and 7001 vehicles respectively, helping the Qin family model sales reach 25943 vehicles.
Another blockbuster model, Song, recorded sales of 22,386 in December. Thanks to the steady climb of DM-i model production capacity, Song DM achieved sales of 15,120 vehicles, in November 2021, Song PLUS DM-i has won the national hybrid (PHEV) model insurance volume champion, during the year, the Song family's cumulative sales exceeded 200,000, launching a challenge to the same level of joint venture SUVs.
In addition, the Yuan family sold 8,577 vehicles in December, accumulating more than 41,000 units during the year. Dolphin sales continued to climb, breaking the 10,000-vehicle mark for the first time in December to 10,016 vehicles.
Compared with 416,300 units in 2020, IND's sales volume has achieved leapfrog growth in 2021, especially the rapid growth rate of new energy vehicles. Even if there are interference factors such as lack of cores and "power rationing" in the industry in some periods, BYD Automobile still maintains a positive growth trend and has reached a new high, and its monthly sales have achieved "ten consecutive increases". In addition, driven by the hot sales of flagship models such as Han and Tang, the unit price of BYD passenger cars exceeded 150,000 yuan in 2021.
