Mr. Peng opposed the Great Leap Forward and the People's Commune Movement, and at the Lushan Conference in 1959, he wrote a letter of more than 3,000 words to the chairman. At that time, there were a large number of generals implicated, but Deng Hua was only suspicious because he cooperated more with General Peng during the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, and he kept to principle at the meeting and did not say bad things about General Peng from the beginning to the end. To deal with General Deng Hua is actually a bit far-fetched. The chairman has always attached great importance to this general, thinking that there is nothing wrong with his character, but he has not seen the situation for a while. Therefore, the chairman said: There is a difference between Deng and Peng. According to the central chief's thesis, Deng Hua's problems have not reached the point of being unmanageable and can be "handled lightly."
But at the critical moment, Lin Shuai said: I thought about it all night, this person is always very dangerous, staying in the army is a dangerous person. After General Peng's 59-year fall, Lin Shuai took over the post of Minister of National Defense and presided over the work of the Central Military Commission, in fact, one of the most powerful people in the military hierarchy. Lin Shuai planned to clean up Deng Hua, so Deng Hua's position as deputy chief of general staff and commander of the Shenyang Military Region could not be saved, and he was even directly expelled from the army. Deng Hua was reluctant to leave, and proposed that it was okay to work and study at the military academy. However, this request, which was not excessive, was still rejected by his superiors, and he could only leave the army to become the vice governor of Sichuan (it can be seen that the chairman still took care of Deng Hua).
In fact, there is a strange problem here: Deng Hua was a general of the Red First Army during the Red Army period, and later a famous general of The Four Wilds. And Lin Zong once served as the commander of the Red First Army, and he was the supreme commander of the four fields, and for Deng Hua who was cultivated by one hand, he should be more loving, at least not suppressed. Why did Lin Zong choose to drop the ground and completely drive him out of the army when his former subordinates were criticized?
The relationship between Lin Shuai and Deng Hua was once very close. Later, the main festival of the two men was during the period of the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea. Before the volunteer army entered the dynasty, Lin Shuai changed the commander of the 13th Corps from his beloved general Huang Yongsheng to Deng Hua. It can be seen that at this stage, Lin Zong recognized Deng Hua's military ability, and at the same time, he also had the grace of knowing Deng Hua. Deng Hua performed very well in the Korean battlefield, the volunteer army won victories one after another, he and Peng Zong's prestige was very high, Deng Hua was the first deputy commander of the volunteer army, and later became the acting commander. Once Deng Hua returned to China to report to the chairman on his work, Lin Shuai was also very enthusiastic about Deng Hua and sent someone to invite him to his home to talk about the situation on the front line.
When Deng Hua reported, Lin Shuai was very excited, and his eyes never left the battlefield map. Deng Hua wanted to return to the Korean front on the same day and was anxious to catch the train, so he was more perfunctory in Lin Shuai's home, and finally proposed that "Peng is always in a hurry", which shows that the general's political acumen is indeed not high. This incident greatly angered Lin Shuai, believing that Deng Hua had been "ungrateful" and had turned to the new chief (Mr. Peng), so Lin Shuai became very hostile to Deng Hua.
After the end of the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, Deng Hua was immersed in military research and military region work, and he never paid attention to such things as maintaining relations and dotting on his superiors, nor did he lack sensitivity, so throughout the fifties, he never explained this matter to Lin Shuai, and there was very little contact between the two people in normal times. Lin Shuai's inner thoughts are often more unique and are easily stimulated by some details; and Deng Hua does have weaknesses in some aspects of work, not pleasing his superiors. No one is perfect, which aggravates Lin Zong's misunderstanding of him, and by the time of the Lushan Conference in 59, it was a general outbreak. In this way, Deng Hua, who was originally excellent in military ability and had a promising future for development, basically bid farewell to his military career because of Lin Shuai's opposition, and was labeled as an anti-party rightist for twenty years.
Despite this, Deng Hua had no complaints about the organization. On the eve of the 1979 counterattack against Vietnam, the central leadership had hoped that Deng Hua, who had made meritorious contributions in the Korean battlefield, would once again take on the heavy responsibility and undertake the command task of fighting against Vietnam. However, General Deng Hua was already thinning down at this time, and his body was not as good as a day. Although he was unable to command the front, he was very excited and relieved about the personnel considerations of the central authorities at a critical moment. Deng Hua instructed his children: We must not forget the organization's care and concern for themselves, and we must repay the country. In July 1980, Deng Hua, a famous general of the generation, died of illness in Shanghai.
