Focusing on emotional intelligence, the experience still needs to be optimized
As a home compact SUV, the RX5 MAX did not focus on space, power and comfort, but labeled itself a "smart fuel vehicle", saying that it opened the "first year of emotional intelligence".
In terms of intelligence, RX5 MAX is indeed full of materials, it is equipped with the current star car chip - Snapdragon 8155, the car machine system chose the Roselle intelligent cockpit system developed by Alibaba, and supports L2+ level intelligent driving assistance, the book information is very strong. So what about the actual experience?
From the actual experience, the author believes that the advantages of the RX5 MAX's smart car are obvious, but there are many places that need to be optimized. The advantage is that the response speed of the car machine is very fast, the recognition of speech is also very accurate, and it is also compatible with a variety of dialects, for example, our guests in the same car use Chengdu dialect to issue instructions to it, the system can not only accurately identify, but also execute very fast. However, in order to reflect the intelligent pressing, this car cancels most of the physical buttons, only retains part of the air conditioning control buttons, so if you want to control the functions in the car, either voice control, or you have to find it in the car machine, at this time, the problem comes.
Voice control basic function is indeed easy to use, whether it is navigation, air conditioning or car windows, can be easily controlled, but to control some complex functions, it seems very embarrassing, such as adjusting the volume, if there is a physical button, you can adjust in real time according to the sense of hearing, and voice control, if not very familiar with the car, tell the car machine you want the specific volume, otherwise it is difficult to adjust the adverb with a louder and smaller degree, and I almost collapsed during the test.
And when you want to control it manually, you'll find that the system is too complicated. Many control buttons are hidden very deeply, like the author of the first time to get started, most likely are confused. It is worth mentioning that the buttons on the multi-function steering wheel also support a variety of controls, before use, you need to find the corresponding menu, such as volume adjustment, you must first find the corresponding menu in the system, you can use, and the process of finding this menu is enough to make your emotions explode.
After many uses, I think this set of smart car machine is a bit overexerted, it does not fully consider the driver when driving and does not have much energy to read the car machine menu, but directly copied the menu logic commonly used by smart phones, resulting in high difficulty in getting started. It is worth mentioning that although it is said to use a 12.3-inch central control screen with a resolution of 1920 * 720, the display effect of the screen is very copycat and seriously disconnected from the data.
While the RX5 MAX's smart car performed mediocrely, the smart driver assistance system performed well. The opening method only takes one click, including full-speed ACC, lane centering and other functions to open. Full speed ACC performance is excellent, the front is empty, when the system accelerates itself, its acceleration action is more gentle, the front vehicle deceleration, the system deceleration on its own, the deceleration action is also very gentle, will not make people feel uncomfortable; lane centering is also very good to use, when used on the high speed with clear markings, the system can easily identify the lane markings, and let the vehicle always drive in the middle of the lane. On the highway, I turned on this function most of the time, which is really convenient.
In general, although RX5 MAX takes intelligence as the core selling point and gives itself a "nonsense" title, the actual intelligent performance is basically the same as the current domestic mainstream car machine level, which is not particularly prominent, and the logically confused car machine will even bring negative evaluation to its intelligent performance.
The three major pieces are mature, and the adjustment is more comfortable
Next, I talked about driving experience, during the one-day test drive, I drove the RX5 MAX over a distance of more than 200 kilometers, the road conditions are mainly high-speed, and there are also some country roads. For the performance of its three major pieces, my evaluation is very reliable and homely. How to understand it?
The 1.5T engine on the RX5 MAX has a maximum horsepower of 181 hp and a maximum torque of 285 Nm, and the power output is currently the mainstream level, matching the engine with a 6AT transmission from Aisin, and the car also offers three driving modes: economy, comfort and sport.
In the comfort mode, the smooth performance of the power system is very good, the engine and the gearbox are tacitly cooperative, the shift action is fast and there is no setback; when you need to accelerate sharply, you will find that after stepping on the throttle deeply, the engine speed climbs very fast, and at the same time produces huge noise, but the acceleration force is not strong; whether it is the initial acceleration or the acceleration at high speed, the feeling is similar, which shows that the power reserve of the engine is not strong. The objective evaluation is that this set of motivation is enough. Of course, this is not a problem, after all, its displacement is only 1.5T. If you need more power, it also has a 2.0T version, the book parameters of the 2.0T engine are 231 hp, the maximum torque is 370 Nm, the matching gearbox has also become AISIN's 8AT, the manufacturer also specifically mentioned that this 8AT is imported, and Aisin's engineers participated in the tuning, and said that its performance is excellent, but this test drive activity, the author failed to experience.
After talking about the motivation, let's talk about the steering. The RX5 MAX's steering is particularly gentle, especially at low speeds, when it only takes one finger to turn the steering wheel. The advantage of gentleness is that it is easy to turn, but at the same time it loses the sense of road, so it is difficult to arouse the driver's desire to drive.
The chassis is structured in front McPherson rear multi-link, the most common type of structure in this class, tuned in style that is still comfortable, and the suspension can well defuse the bumps when driving on bumpy roads. Comfort and sport cannot be combined, so its chassis also does not meet your needs for intense driving.
Overall, the RX5 MAX is a very comfortable family car, with no driving characteristics, but no shortcomings.
The design is special and the space is mainstream
Finally, a brief chat about the very different design, compared to the old model, the appearance and interior of the new car have undergone a lot of changes, it is worth mentioning that the electric hidden door handle design commonly used in new energy vehicles is also used. According to the official, such designs are younger, but whether young people buy it or not is still left to young people to evaluate.
In terms of space, since the new RX5 MAX has no significant change in size compared to the old model, its spatial performance is almost the same as that of the old model. Thanks to its wheelbase of 2760mm, its spatial performance has reached the best level in the mainstream.
