BAIC Group further increased its own brand of commercial vehicles. On December 29, BAIC Heavy Duty Truck Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as BAIC Heavy Truck) held an annual economic work meeting to clarify the key work and promotion plan for 2022. Zhang Xiyong, deputy secretary of the party committee and general manager of BAIC Group, and Jiang Zili, member of the standing committee of the party committee and deputy general manager, attended the meeting by video. As one of the major investment projects of BAIC Group during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, BAIC Heavy Truck Commercial Vehicle Project has entered the fast lane of accelerated promotion, and the Baiqi Group's Southern Commercial Vehicle Strategic Base is gradually taking shape in East China.

Wu Yuejun, secretary of the party committee and general manager of BAIC Heavy Truck, elaborated on the strategic planning in the theme report. He said that the BAIC heavy truck project was launched at the beginning of this year and is currently in the construction period, and will enter the critical period of tackling tough problems in 2022. According to the goal set by BAIC Group, it will strive to reach 60,000 vehicles in 2025, becoming the leader of the second echelon of the domestic heavy-duty truck industry, and reaching more than 120,000 vehicles in 2030, ranking among the top five in the first echelon.

Zhang Xiyong, deputy secretary of the party committee and general manager of BAIC Group, said that as one of the strategic businesses directly managed by the group, the future development of BAIC heavy trucks will be fully supported by the group, and will also become a key force for the future sustainable development of BAIC. "With the enterprising attitude of a pioneer in a new journey, we must jointly build BAIC Heavy Truck into a new benchmark for the high-quality development of BAIC Group's own brand."

At the end of last year, baiqi heavy-duty truck commercial vehicle project was listed as a major investment project of BAIC Group in the "14th Five-Year Plan", and BAIC Group and Changgaoxin Group joined forces to jointly invest in the establishment of BAIC heavy-duty truck commercial vehicle base, coordinating the construction of four major centers of parts manufacturing, product research and development, financial services, global sales and heavy-duty truck industrial clusters. At the 2021 strategy seminar of BAIC Group held on December 25, BAIC motor proposed that "commercial vehicles should achieve high-quality development" and "the group will increase support for the development of commercial vehicles", and clearly positioned BAIC Heavy Truck as the strategic base of BAIC Group's southern commercial vehicles.
