In mid-April, Ford Commercial Vehicle Brand Ford Pro released a second preview of purely e-commerce vehicles, when it was speculated from the silhouette LED light bar that it should be the Electric version of tourneo Custom. Now the mystery is revealed, the new car released by the Ford Pro in the European market after E-Transit is the E-Transit Custom, which is second only to E-Transit in body size and grid positioning, and occupies the second position in the pure e-commerce car camp.
In contrast to the Internal Combustion Engine-powered Transit Custom, the E-Transit Custom's biggest change was the redesigned LED headlights on the front of the car, the water tank shroud was changed to a closed design, and it was decorated with a bright silver pattern. The charging port is integrated on the right side of the bumper, under the headlight set, and on the left side of the water tank shroud there is a female "E" logo, which makes the E-Transit Custom visually distinguishable from the fuel model Transit Custom.
Although the appearance of the new car has been fully exposed, the Ford Pro is still confidential to the technical specifications, so the power data, equipment and other information can not be known. The original factory only offers a maximum range of 380 kilometers, but this number also has variables, and ultimately depends on what capacity battery the Ford Pro will install for the E-Transit Custom. It is now certain that the new car supports DC fast charging, and if the same system is used as the E-Transit, the charging power should be 115 kW.
Further information will not be released until September, after foreign media reported that the Ford Pro plans to align the E-Transit Custom with the E-Transit, offering 181 hp and 265 hp, both set for rear-wheel drive and 430 Nm of torque. Meters, it is estimated that 0~100km/h acceleration should be within 7 seconds.
Although the interior was not announced this time, in principle, E-Transit Custom should be equipped with a SYNC 4 infotainment system, with a 12-inch touch screen to meet the needs of larger size pure e-commerce vehicles. In addition, V2L vehicles can be powered by up to 2.3kW, which further improves practicality.
The new E-Transit Custom car is exposed, but it still lacks a lot of key information, and the new car will not be available until at least 2023.
