Zhao Yiman is a native of Yibin, Sichuan, formerly known as Li Kuntai, at the age of 20, she led more than 2,000 students to participate in the anti-imperialist patriotic parade, the same year, she joined the Communist Party, in November, the Wuchang branch of the Huangpu Military Academy recruited female students, Zhao Yiman enrolled and was admitted, she became a female student of the sixth phase of the Whampoa Military Academy, when she left her hometown, the whole family sent her off at the Hejiang Wharf in Yibin.
Two years later, Zhao Yiman was arranged by the party organization to study at Sun Yat-sen University in Moscow, soviet Union, where she met Chen Dabang, and with the consent of the party organization, the two married, on January 21, 1929, Zhao Yiman gave birth to a son, because this day was the fifth anniversary of Lenin's death, she gave her son a nickname "Ning'er"
Because the party organization was in urgent need of female cadres at that time, Zhao Yiman had not spent more time with her son, so she was summoned away by the party organization, and before leaving, Zhao Yiman pinned her son on her husband's eldest brother, which became her and her son's last farewell.
After the "918 Incident", Zhao Yiman took the initiative to work in the northeast, and the party organization transferred her to the northeast to serve in the anti-Japanese contingent, when she and Zhao Shangzhi were both called "Hadong Erzhao" so that the Japanese regarded them as a thorn in their eye and a thorn in their flesh, and the Japanese army tried every means to arrest her.
On November 14, 1935, due to being wounded in battle, Zhao Yiman was unfortunately captured by the Japanese army, after more than a month of torture, Zhao Yiman was unyielding, her body was completely injured, and the Japanese sent her to Harbin Municipal Hospital for treatment, in the hospital, Zhao Yiman was helped by hot-blooded nurses and police and escaped.
On June 30, 1936, Zhao Yiman was arrested again by the Japanese army while going to the anti-Japanese guerrillas, and on August 1, Zhao Yiman was unfortunately killed.
Before Zhao Yiman died, she wrote a suicide note: Mother is really sorry that you have not fulfilled your educational responsibilities. Because my mother resolutely waged the struggle against Manchuria and Japan, today she has reached the eve of sacrifice. Hope you, Ning'er! Hurry up adults and come and comfort your underground mother! When you grow up, hopefully don't forget that your mother died for your country!
Because when she was working in the northeast at that time, Zhao Yiman used a pseudonym, so during the more than 10 years of her sacrifice, her family did not know where she was, until 1954, Zhao Yiman's second sister Li Kunjie, found Zhao Yiman's comrade-in-arms He Chengxiang, Li Kunjie took a photo of Zhao Yiman, He Chengxiang saw it, and immediately identified Zhao Yiman as Li Kuntai.
For his mother's instructions, Chen Yexian has always remembered in his heart, after that, he was admitted to Chinese University, Premier Zhou Enlai was very concerned about him, once visited him, after graduating from college, Chen Yexian felt that the motherland needed industrial construction more, so he took the initiative to work at the Beijing Industrial School.
Later, the government informed Chen Yexian that he wanted him to receive Zhao Yiman's pension, Chen Yexian did not go, he did not even receive his mother's martyr's certificate, Chen Yexian's daughter Chen Hong said: Father does not dare to go to receive grandma's pension, he once said: "Mother's blood money, do I use it to eat or wear?" At that time, Zhao Yiman's films were being shown all over the country, but Chen Yexian did not dare to watch them, because he really did not want to see his mother tortured.
In 1982, Chen Yexian hanged himself at the age of 53, and before his death, he left a message to his children: Don't think of yourself as the descendants of martyrs, you must live the life of ordinary people, and don't add any trouble to the organization. In the future, do your own thing, don't add trouble to the country. Remember that Grandma is Grandma, you are you! Otherwise, I'm sorry for your grandma.
Chen Hong, the eldest daughter of Chen Yexian, was born in 1958, a retired ordinary employee of the Sichuan Large-Scale Transport Company, and she has always remembered her father's instructions, and for so many years, she thinks that the proudest thing she is is that she has been sparing no effort to promote the spirit of her grandmother.
