In 1935, Zhao Yiman was unfortunately arrested by the Japanese army.

Zhao Yiman had a son, which was born to her husband Chen Dabang, the two met while studying in Moscow, and later married, in 1928, Zhao Yiman gave birth to a son, named Chen Yexian.
Before going to the northeast to work, Zhao Yiman placed his son in the home of her husband's eldest brother, and since then, he has not seen his son again.
After the founding of the People's Republic of China, Chen Yexian's aunt Chen Chunying found him and sent him to Chinese University, after graduating from the university, Chen Yexian was arranged to teach at the Beijing Institute of Technology.

Chen Yexian later married his own student Zhang Youlian, gave birth to a daughter Chen Hong, because they did not know much, the two were not in harmony after marriage, and soon divorced, and then Zhang Youlian was hit, suffered from mild mental illness, in 1961, the two remarried, and gave birth to a daughter.
When Chen Hong grew up, she did not think of herself as a descendant of a martyr, she retired as an ordinary employee of the Chengdu Bulk Transport Company, and in 1982, Zhao Yiman's only son, Chen Yexian, hanged himself at home for many reasons at the age of 53.
