Zhao Yiman is a famous anti-Japanese hero in China, she was born in 1905, is a Native of Sichuan, originally named Li Kuntai, and later changed her name to Zhao Yiman. Zhao Yiman has had a strong sense of service to the country since she was a child, and she was once a graduate of the sixth batch of the Whampoa Military Academy. After graduation, Zhao Yiman became the regimental political commissar of the Northeast Anti-Japanese Coalition Army, and in 1936 Zhao Yiman was arrested, at the age of 31.
Zhao Yiman's husband's name was Chen Dabang, and he was the Chinese representative of the Comintern. Zhao Yiman and Chen Dabang's son was named Chen Yexian, and he was also the only son of Zhao Yiman. Chen Yexian was born in 1929, and when he was more than one year old, Zhao Yiman was sent to the Northeast Anti-Japanese Coalition Army to command the operation.
In 1936, when Zhao Yiman died, Chen Yexian was only 7 years old, but Chen Yexian did not know that Zhao Yiman was his birth mother. When Zhao Yiman went to the northeast, he entrusted Chen Yexian to Chen Yexian's great uncle, who had been raised by his great uncle since childhood.
However, after growing up a little, Chen Yexian knew that he was the child of his mother Zhao Yiman who was fostered in his uncle's house, so this developed Chen Yexian's introverted personality. Chen Yexian's childhood without his mother was lonely, which also laid the groundwork for his future tragedies.
After the founding of New China, Chen Yexian's aunt Chen Qunying found Chen Yexian and arranged for him to study at Chinese Min University. After graduating, Chen Yexian was assigned to teach at Beijing University of Technology and became a teacher. At this point, many people must feel that this is what the orphans of the martyrs deserve. However, Chen Yexian was particularly arrogant, he did not want to receive a pension from his mother Zhao Yiman, and he also refused to live by Zhao Yiman's reputation.
Chen Yexian did not have his mother to accompany him in his childhood, and developed his personality of a big cheer, usually did not pay attention to appearance, or even did not trim the edges, and lived in a place like a "beggar" all year round. Because of his introverted personality, Chen Yexian did not marry until he was very old, and he married his own student, whose name was Zhang Youlian.
Chen Yexian has not been disciplined by his mother since he was a child, he cannot manage his finances, and he has no plan for his salary after paying his salary every month, and he spends a lot of money, which causes him to often be unable to make ends meet. It is reasonable to say that Chen Yexian is a university teacher with a salary of 69 yuan, far beyond the average person, but Chen Yexian is always not enough to spend, especially after Zhang Youlian gave birth to his first daughter, the two often quarreled over economic problems, and eventually the two divorced.
After the divorce, the daughter was sent to Chen Yexian's aunt to raise, and Zhang Youlian was mentally ill because she was divorced and could not see her daughter. After the two remarried, but because Zhang Youlian had mental illness, she often needed treatment, which made Chen Yexian's economic situation worse, and after Chen Yexian had a daughter, raising two children made Chen Yexian doubly stressed.
Chen Yexian was quite arrogant, which could be seen from his refusal of his mother Zhao Yiman's pension, who was also a person who did not want to ask for help. According to the records, when Chen Yexian was the poorest, he had no money to eat for four or five consecutive days, and could only lie in bed, or his colleagues found him and sent him to the hospital in time, which saved Chen Yexian's life.
Because he did not know how to plan his life, Chen Yexian was poor and destitute, coupled with the fact that Chen Yexian was introverted and did not know how to communicate with people, which made Chen Yexian gradually develop a world-weary mood. In 1982, 46 years after Zhao Yiman's death, Chen Yexian hanged himself and ended his life at the age of 53.
