Zhao Yiman and Chen Dabang: Both graduated from Huangpu, and after she sacrificed 20 years, he realized his wife's true identity

The anti-Japanese heroine Zhao Yiman is not called "Zhao Yiman", and her real name has nothing to do with the three words "Zhao Yiman". The name "Zhao Yiman" is a pseudonym taken by Zhao Yiman in order to "make it more convenient to resist Japan".

The unfolding of the anti-Japanese work under the pseudonym Zhao Yiman provided great convenience, but it also led to the fact that her true identity remained unknown for decades after her sacrifice.

This "world" actually includes Zhao Yiman's close relative and husband Chen Dabang.

Twenty years after Zhao Yiman's sacrifice, when Zhao Yiman's heroic deeds were made into a movie and spread throughout China, Chen Dabang, who had been struggling to find a wife, never associated the three words "Zhao Yiman" with his wife "Li Kuntai".

Chen Dabang, like Zhao Yiman, was one of the earliest revolutionary volunteers in China, and he and she graduated from the sixth phase of the Whampoa Military Academy. In addition to being like-minded, the two have one important thing in common: they both come from rich and noble families, but in the end they both resolutely threw themselves into the revolution.

Chen Dabang was born in 1900 in Changsha, and he was a full five years older than his wife Zhao Yiman.

Zhao Yiman and Chen Dabang

Chen Dabang's brother-in-law Ren Bishi was an outstanding revolutionary, and under his influence, Chen Dabang joined the Revolutionary Party after graduating from the Whampoa Military Academy.

It was also in September of the year of joining the revolution that Chen Dabang and Zhao Yiman boarded a huge ship bound for Vladivostok, Soviet Union. As early as the ship had just started, he noticed the comrades on the ship looking at the motherland with chains on the side of the ship.

However, because Zhao Yiman was meditating at that time, she did not pay attention to the comrade who was constantly looking at herself. She only looked at the lights that were slowly engulfed by darkness, and silently said in her heart: "Goodbye, motherland!" Goodbye, dear ones! ”

When looking at the distance, under the blowing of the sea breeze, Zhao Yiman naturally thought of his childhood experience. When she was a child, she told her family that she would "go to the ocean" when she grew up, and later, when her eldest brother-in-law Zheng Youzhi showed him ocean pictures, she also said this to her brother-in-law. She didn't expect that so soon, she would really be "ocean-going".

After boarding the ship, in order to facilitate better exchanges and studies among the revolutionary comrades, all the revolutionaries were organized into groups of 10 people each. Coincidentally, Chen Dabang and Zhao Yiman were assigned to a group, and Chen Dabang was elected as the leader of their group.

The day after getting on the ship, because he had a cold not long ago, Zhao Yiman vomited violently in the bumps. It is no wonder that Zhao Yiman's hometown is in the mountainous area of Sichuan's southern Sichuan, which is a famous dry wharf, so she has hardly ever taken a boat.

As the leader of the group, Chen Dabang saw that Zhao Yiman kept vomiting, and he was busy cleaning up the vomit for her while delivering water and food to her. As soon as he was free, he told her stories to distract her.

In danger, people are often particularly easily moved by small warmth. Looking at this elegant- and gentle and considerate man busy with himself, Zhao Yiman's heart was warm. So, after feeling better, she began to pay more attention to this man.

The giant ship arrived in Vladivostok after a week of sailing, but because of the busy transportation in Siberia at that time, Chen Dabang and his party had to wait for a week before waiting for the parking space to go to their destination in Moscow.

Although it was still September, Vladivostok was still a little cold at this time, so Chen Dabang gave his clothes to Zhao Yiman. In the more than ten days of waiting for the parking space, Chen Dabang, who had a very good impression of Zhao Yiman, accompanied her to see the scenery and take a walk as soon as she had time.

When watching the scenery and walking, Zhao Yiman told Chen Dabang all the stories of his childhood and adolescence. She told him that she wanted to join the revolution because she had always been oppressed by her feudal family, especially her eldest brother.

Zhao Yiman's eldest brother is a very serious feudal person, he has not only been angry about his sister, but also forbade her to learn cultural knowledge, for this reason, Zhao Yiman also wrote an article denouncing his brother's behavior. Later, my brother even wanted to give her an "arranged marriage" like the old-fashioned parents. After learning that he would be married to the so-called "famous queen" he had never seen before, Zhao Yiman and his brother broke out into a fierce dispute.

During the dispute, Zhao Yiman's eldest brother angrily denounced the progressive books his sister's study as "fallacious reasoning and heresy", and he also burned her progressive books in anger.

Her brother's fierce opposition did not stop Zhao Yiman's enthusiasm for exploring the revolutionary road; on the contrary, it further stimulated her determination to liberate women and break with the exploiting class. It was also soon after that that she began her initial exploration of emancipating women and transforming society.

Zhao Yiman also told Chen Dabang that she was not alone on the road to exploring the revolution, and her brother-in-law Zheng Youzhi was one of her fellow practitioners. Zheng Youzhi has been reading poetry since childhood, and at the age of 15 he was exposed to the idea of democratic revolution.

Zhao Yiman's first contact with new ideas was through her eldest brother-in-law Zheng Youzhi, and it was through her that the desire for knowledge and the enthusiasm for revolution in her heart would be so strong.

Zheng Youzhi

When telling this past with the eldest brother-in-law Zheng Youzhi, Zhao Yiman, who had already talked to Chen Dabang, also told the confession of the eldest brother-in-law after the loss of his wife and himself. After listening, Chen Dabang asked her: "Since your sister died at that time, why didn't you accept him?" Zhao Yiman thought about it and said, "In my heart, he has always been a relative, and he can't become anything else!" ”

Zhao Yiman told Chen Dabang that she had always been grateful to her brother-in-law, and that she had left Yibin to start a formal revolution, thanks to the help of her brother-in-law. When she left Yibin, Zheng Youzhi gave Zhao Yiman the only silver dollars she had.

Chen Dabang nodded thoughtfully after listening to Zhao Yiman's answer.

In the more than half a month from Vladivostok to Moscow, Chen Dabang has also been accompanying Zhao Yiman in this way. They talked about revolutionary ideals together, and sometimes, when they talked about the current situation in the country, the two of them would express their emotions together.

The collision of thoughts often implies spiritual resonance, and soon, two souls slowly approach each other. After entering Moscow, the two entered the Moscow Sun Yat-sen University together, and again, by coincidence, the two were assigned to the same class: the sixth class.

After getting the student ID number, Zhao Yiman held her student ID card with "087" written on it in a daze, and she thought: "Could this be fate?" When Zhao Yiman was in a daze, Chen Dabang had quietly reached behind her, and he smiled and said, "We really have a relationship, it is another class, and the student ID number is so close." ”

After entering the university, which is called "Sun Yat-sen University of Chinese Laborers", Zhao Yiman and Chen Dabang quickly threw themselves into intense study. In order to learn Russian as soon as possible, Zhao Yiman often chewed on the Russian dictionary without sleep. Chen Dabang, who is good at Russian, couldn't help but say: "Learning languages, it is not enough to memorize words, so I will help you make up lessons." ”

After that, Chen Dabang, who had a very good Russian score, began to help Zhao Yiman learn Russian.

Zhao Yiman

After receiving Chen Dabang's help several times and three times, Zhao Yiman became more and more deeply affectionate with this big brother-like comrade. She vaguely felt that he was the person she had been waiting for. However, because of the revolution, because of the woman's reticence, she has never shown her heart.

As time passed, Chen Dabang and Zhao Yiman still discussed and studied together as usual, and occasionally, they would participate in extracurricular entertainment activities together. The main recreational activities in Moscow are skiing, and in the summer, they can occasionally swim and row, which is their favorite.

Chen Dabang likes to enjoy the natural scenery, so whenever he has time, he will pull Zhao Yiman to climb Lenin Mountain together, this mountain is not high, but the scenery on the mountain is very beautiful. When climbing the mountain together, the two occasionally use Chinese and occasionally use Russian, but most of the time, the content of their conversation is inseparable from revolution and learning.

Slowly, Chen Dabang also found that he seemed to like this beautiful girl, and he was always extra attentive to her affairs, and he realized that his concern for her seemed to have surpassed that of ordinary friends.

Once, when the two of them went swimming together, because the time of the dive was a little later, the weather had cooled down and the water temperature had dropped a lot. So soon after the day of the water, Chen Dabang noticed that her face was a little pale and her lips were a little purple. After realizing that Zhao Yiman might be cold, Chen Dabang hurriedly pulled Zhao Yiman to swim ashore in advance.

After landing ashore, he hurriedly draped his clothes on her and said, "I am not good, your body bones are already weak, I still commit such negligence, the water is too cold, almost causing a big mistake." ”

Zhao Yiman couldn't help but laugh at the nervousness on his face: "I think the water is cold, but don't you just exercise, don't you tighten, you, the tension is too much." ”

After Chen Dabang listened, his face instantly turned red.

In the blink of an eye, in 1928, Zhao Yiman was unconsciously 23 years old, and Chen Dabang was already 28 years old. Both of them reached the "old age" seen by the world at that time.

This spring, the campus of Sun Yat-sen University was full of spring, and one afternoon, Chen Dabang received a date note from Zhao Yiman. After seeing her Juanxiu's font, he said to himself with some doubt: "How did the location change to a garden?" ”

That day, when Chen Dabang first stepped into the garden, Zhao Yiman suddenly jumped out from behind the rockery, because she did not stand still when she jumped out, and she almost stumbled and fell. Fortunately, Chen Dabang quickly supported her with his eyes, and after holding her steady, he asked busily: "Is there anything wrong?" So mysterious!"

Zhao Yiman looked at Chen Dabang and said seriously, "I decided that we would get married." After listening to Zhao Yiman's words, Chen Dabang's face instantly turned red, and he stammered, "You... Say what? ”

Seeing that Chen Dabang did not seem to react, Zhao Yiman said loudly, word by word: "Yes, I am married to you!" Zhao Yiman said it to the point, and it seemed that chen Dabang did not have any room for negotiation.

After saying this, Zhao Yiman looked at the dazed Chen Dabang tenderly and said:

"I know, you think I'm flippant. No, I thought about it carefully. I think what we need at the moment is not to fall in love, but to study, and to better fulfill the learning tasks entrusted to us by the party and the people. In order to get rid of my troubles, pain and suffering, I made such a choice and decision. ”

Chen Dabang looked at Zhao Yiman in a daze, and only then did he know that she, who had been silently liking her, had also been liking herself, and was deeply disturbed by that liking.

In April, when everything grew, after the approval of the organization, Chen Dabang and Zhao Yiman held a simple and warm wedding.

Chen Dabang (first from right) poses with a friend

After marriage, Chen Dabang has been carefully caring for his wife, and in order to cure her cough, he has tried all kinds of methods. Once when taking his wife to visit the Soviet History Museum, Zhao Yiman's cough attacked again, this time, Chen Dabang said that he would not let her carry anything, and he coaxed her into the school infirmary.

After the examination, the old doctor said to Zhao Yiman: "You are pregnant, the lung disease has worsened, and you need to rest and recuperate." ”

Zhao Yiman ran back to their hut alone after seeing the patient, and when Chen Dabang returned home, he saw his wife lying on the quilt crying, and he didn't know what happened, and he hurriedly asked: "What's wrong?" ”

Zhao Yiman raised his tearful eyes to look at her husband and cried, "What's wrong, you see!" ”

When Chen Dabang saw the diagnosis, he immediately understood the reason why his wife was crying: her body needed to rest, which meant that she had to temporarily give up her studies. This is undoubtedly an extremely difficult choice for a female comrade who values the revolution more than anything else.

As a husband and father of children, Chen Dabang naturally hopes that his wife can rest, after all, that is the best choice for her and her children. But as a revolutionary, he is well aware of the importance of the revolution at the moment.

In the end, after a series of ideological struggles, Chen Dabang persuaded his wife to go to the hospital for treatment. During this time, he took care of his wife while attending classes, and in the evening, he also had to carry textbooks to make up lessons for his wife.

Perhaps because he saw that he would delay Chen Dabang's study, Zhao Yiman actually walked into the office of the Communist Party of China's Mozambican branch in the winter of that year, and he told the relevant personnel that she wanted to leave Moscow and return to China to participate in specific work. The reason she gave was that the oxygen in Moscow was thin in winter, which was not good for pregnant women and people with lung disease.

After receiving approval, Zhao Yiman told her husband about his decision. After listening, Chen Dabang said earnestly: "Why don't you discuss with me, we should return to China together." Zhao Yiman did not wait for him to finish speaking before preemptively saying: "No, you are in good health, you should stay and study." ”

Such a reason obviously could not convince Chen Dabang, who still refused to be separated from his wife. But he also knows that once the wife decides something, it is almost difficult to change.

Sure enough, one day not long after, Zhao Yiman said to him very gently: "Today you have to listen to the lesson well, today's lesson is a new lesson, you listen carefully and come back to give me counseling!" After saying this, she meekly arranged his clothes and took his hand to take him to the staircase.

When she reached the staircase, Zhao Yiman suddenly said "slow", and then, she stepped forward and hugged him. After a long time, she let go of her hands and smiled at him as he walked away. That day, Chen Dabang, who seemed to have a premonition, kept looking back at his wife, while Zhao Yiman only smiled and waved to him.

On the same day, after sending off her husband, Zhao Yiman returned to their warm cottage. She quickly packed up all the things she should bring, and after packing her bags, she gazed at the wedding photos affectionately and said, "Dabang, take care!" Reunion in our homeland. ”

Subsequently, Zhao Yiman walked out of the door with his luggage. When the door was closed, her heart clattered involuntarily, but she still took a firm step forward.

At noon that day, when Chen Dabang returned to their hut, Zhao Yiman was already gone, and her luggage was missing along with her people. He found a note she had left behind that read:

"Darbon, I'm gone. Not telling you the truth is not willing to delay your lectures, and I am not willing to let you bear the pain of parting. You can study with peace of mind and hope that you will come back soon and hug your son! Farewell, wife - Li Kuntai"

Elderly Chen Dabang

After reading the note, Chen Dabang ran to the balcony like crazy, and he looked at the road that his wife had to pass when she walked, and he wanted to cry without tears. After that, he had to continue to study at Sun Yat-sen University, but after that, he became more energetic.

After returning to China, Zhao Yiman began to use her pregnant status to persist in the revolution, and her task at that time was to use Yichang, Hubei Province, as a base to cover for the underground party entering and leaving Sichuan, in order to protect their lives.

A first-born pregnant woman has to do such an important job, and it is still in the case of illness, and the difficulty of this is imaginable.

At that time, although China had entered the Republic of China, feudal ideology was still serious. Therefore, when the pregnant Zhao Yiman went in and out of Yichang alone, she naturally suffered from white eyes. On the day of childbirth, Zhao Yiman was seen moaning on the bed, and in order to protect herself, the landlord actually drove her out, and the landlord even pulled the belt to pull her and said:

"I don't know where to carry the wild seeds, where to carry the wild seeds, where to give birth to, don't obscure our family."

When she was swept out of the house, Zhao Yiman was already penniless, and on that day, she could only moan helplessly and painfully on the road. As she watched her child be born on the main road, a docker who had been helped by her took her to her home. After a night of pain, with the help of a worker couple, Zhao Yiman gave birth to a boy on February 1, 1929.

Looking at his skinny son and remembering everything the night before giving birth, Zhao Yiman, who has always been strong, finally couldn't help but shed tears. With a palpitation in her heart, she was really afraid that the child would lose again, if so, how could she explain it to her husband Chen Dabang!

On the day the child was born, Zhao Yiman gave him a nickname, called "Ning'er", this "Ning" is to commemorate her and his love at Lenin Mountain, and the second is to echo her word "Shu Ning".

Zhao Yiman did not give the child a big name, she wanted to wait until she was reunited with her husband to give the child a big name. Little did she know at the time that their parting from Moscow was a farewell.

When Zhao Yiman gave birth to a child, Sun Yat-sen University was dissolved, and Chen Dabang was organized to stay in the China Printing Department of moscow foreign publishing houses, a position he did not refuse, because he was the best student in foreign languages.

The biggest characteristic of revolutionary couples is that they can sacrifice their families and sacrifice themselves for the revolution. Chen Dabang's choice to stay in Moscow is a sacrifice, and this sacrifice must be supported by Zhao Yiman.

Just when Chen Dabang threw herself into her new job with great enthusiasm, Zhao Yiman in China was facing the most difficult situation: because of the successive exposure of her identity, she made several emergency transfers. During this period, she first moved from Yichang to Shanghai, and then fled from Shanghai to the Jiangxi Provincial Party Committee. After the provincial party organs were exposed, Zhao Yiman, who was cornered, fled back to Shanghai.

The escape from Nanchang, Jiangxi to Shanghai was the most difficult years that Zhao Yiman experienced.

As before, this time fleeing for his life, Zhao Yiman was penniless. Looking at the child waiting to be fed in her arms, she really thought about the need for her husband's former worries. Every time she encountered a tribulation, she would always think of her husband who always sheltered her from the wind and rain, but she knew that only by surviving could she wait until the day she was reunited with him. After gritting her teeth, she decided to take her child all the way to Shanghai to beg.

So, in order to ensure that the child did not starve to death, she really begged all the way. This way, because of begging along the road, Zhao Yiman suffered a blank stare, of course, she also got some well-wishers to fund.

What supports Zhao Yiman to live is faith. Indeed, if it were not for faith, how could she carry Ning Er to the ferry port by the Ganjiang River? It should be noted that along the way, in addition to enduring hunger and cold, she also encountered several enemy arrests! On several occasions, she and her child almost died.

Zhao Yiman took a group photo with his son

After arriving at the ferry port, Zhao Yiman found that there was no money and could not get on the boat.

That day, Zhao Yiman, who wanted to cry without tears, thought of the last valuable family item on his body: the fixed feelings table given to her by her husband Chen Dabang. This way, even in the most difficult time, she was reluctant to be a pocket watch. After all, it was her only consolation in the face of suffering and setbacks; after all, it was the only thought her husband had left him.

After gritting his teeth, Zhao Yiman still decided to use his pocket watch as a reward for the boatman to cross the river by himself. She thought: Finding the organization as soon as possible is the most important thing, and she still has a lot of information to report! After thinking like this, Zhao Yiman wiped his pocket watch and handed it to the boatman...

After arriving in Shanghai this time, Zhao Yiman met with her husband's cousin Chen Chunying, and the two sisters who were also revolutionaries were very happy after meeting. After knowing that Zhao Yiman had been carrying his young children to persist in the revolution, Chen Chunying said with some uneasiness:

"Take a child to revolution, in case he is discovered, he can't run away, otherwise, you temporarily foster him in Wuhan, our fifth brother, he will definitely take good care of Ning'er."

The fifth brother in Chen Chunying's mouth was Chen Yueyun, Chen Dabang's cousin, and Zhao Yiman thought about it after listening to it: "I am no longer willing to have children, nor can I take risks with children, I believe that if Ning Er's father knew, he would also agree to me doing this." Okay, I'll go to Wuhan. ”

On the way to Wuhan with Chen Chunying, Zhao Yiman has been holding her son tightly, Chen Chunying wants to give her a substitute, she refuses, Chen Chunying knows: she wants to do more responsibility for the child, after all, no one knows how long their mother and son will be separated.

When he walked to the door of the fifth brother's house, Zhao Yiman suddenly said to Chen Chunying: "You go first, I will go and take a picture with the child!" After saying that, without waiting for Chen Chunying's reaction, she turned and left.

After settling her son in, Zhao Yiman went to the post office to write a letter to her beloved husband, and the letter included a photo of her and her son. In the letter, she strives to describe their lives and the revolutionary situation as well as possible, and she wants to give care and comfort to her husbands who are far away in a foreign country.

In the blink of an eye, it was 1931, when the September 18 Incident broke out in China, and the Japanese occupied the three eastern provinces. Zhao Yiman, who had been working underground in Shanghai, began to organize anti-Japanese activities, which also meant that her tasks were becoming more and more dangerous.

In the spring of 1932, Zhao Yiman arrived in the northeast in order to resist Japan, and in order to hide her identity, she began to use the pseudonym "Zhao Yiman" in order to hide her identity and sneak into the tobacco company as a worker. Since then, in order to better carry out anti-Japanese work, she has never told anyone about her real name.

In 1933, Zhao Yiman, who performed well in the anti-Japanese war, participated in leading the anti-Japanese strike struggle of the Harbin tram workers. In order to cover her identity, during this period, she had a false husband and wife with Lao Cao (Huang Weixin), the head of the Manchurian Federation of Trade Unions.

The following year, Zhao Yiman began to mobilize the masses to establish peasant guerrillas and cooperate with the anti-Japanese troops. She repeatedly led the anti-Japanese forces to deal a heavy blow to the Japanese army, and after a long time, the Japanese army called her "red gun and white horse" in the Japanese pseudo-newspaper because of the fear of this female revolutionary.

In addition to the red gun and white horse, Zhao Yiman also has many nicknames, occasionally, comrades will call her "Skinny Li", more often, soldiers affectionately call her "our political commissar". The reason why it is called this is because during the Anti-Japanese War, Zhao Yiman also served as "the political commissar of the First Division and the Second Regiment of the Third Army of the Northeast People's Revolutionary Army."

Zhao Yiman film and television picture

In the long revolution, Zhao Yiman has long transformed into a female fighter with excellent strategy and marksmanship. This outstanding female cadet who graduated from the Whampoa Military Academy repeatedly dealt a hard blow to the enemy in the War of Resistance Against Japan.

Unfortunately, in a fierce battle with the enemy in November 1935, Zhao Yiman was wounded to cover the breakthrough of the troops, because of the serious leg injuries and the fact that she had run out of ammunition at this time, she unfortunately became a prisoner of the Japanese.

After learning that the revolutionary they had caught was a "red gun and white horse," both the Japanese and the Japanese army were very excited, and they said one after another: "If you catch her, it is equivalent to catching countless revolutionary parties, and she definitely has a list in her hand!" ”

However, to their disappointment, no matter what kind of torture they used against Zhao Yiman, she never confided in the so-called "confessions" that the Japanese wanted.

In order to force Zhao Yiman to obey, the Japanese at first used "light punishments" such as whipping, tooth extraction, electrocution, and iron signing. Because she refused to give in, the Japanese later poked her leg wound with a horse whip, and then poured salt into the wound, twisting it little by little, and Zhao Yiman was tortured to death several times, but even so, she still did not give them half a bit of information.

Zhao Yiman's interrogation was later recorded in the enemy's report entitled "Report on the Effectiveness of Interrogating Ms. Zhao Yiman," according to which Zhao Yiman's torture included pricking her fingers and toes with steel needles, removing all nail covers, electrocution, and so on.

In the face of so many terrible punishments, Zhao Yiman has always kept his mouth shut. What sustains her insistence on enduring all torture against human physiology is still her inner faith in revolution.

Zhao Yiman and Chen Dabang: Both graduated from Huangpu, and after she sacrificed 20 years, he realized his wife's true identity

Zhao Yiman rambling picture

Seeing that Zhao Yiman was so unyielding, the rutless Japanese tied her to a cart on August 2, 1936, and carried out a "parade in the streets" in Zhuhe County. They told Zhao Yiman: Today is your death date, but after hearing this news, Zhao Yiman only laughed and said, "Kill, you can't kill my faith." ”

Perhaps because of the reverence for the heroine, a Japanese officer asked before her death, "Do you have anything else to say?" When she heard this, Zhao Yiman's heart, which had been tense, suddenly softened, and at that moment, she thought of her husband, whom she had not seen for many years, and she also thought of her son Ning Er, who had been separated for many years. So she asked for a pen and paper and wrote a suicide note to her son. When she was done, she held her head high and said:

"Bring these words to my son from my hometown!"

After that, Zhao Yiman calmly became righteous. When she died, she left no words for her beloved husband. Is she not wanting to? No, it's that she can't. Because as a revolutionary, she knew that leaving a letter to her husband would probably expose her husband, who was also a revolutionary.

After all, they didn't say goodbye and they were forever...

When Zhao Yiman was killed, her husband Chen Dabang was unaware. All he knew was that he couldn't reach his wife anymore.

Like his wife, Chen Dabang has been insisting on revolution, except that he has been active in the rear as a technician, while his wife has been on the front line.

Since 1935, Chen Dabang has been the director of the printing department of the National Salvation Daily, which aims to promote the anti-Japanese national salvation, and he personally typeset the "Letter to All Compatriots for The Anti-Japanese National Salvation" (that is, the "August 1st Declaration"), which has inspired countless anti-Japanese fighters.

During his tenure as director of the printing department of the "National Salvation Daily", the heroic deeds of the Northeast Volunteer Army, the Northeast Anti-Japanese Coalition Army, and the Japanese invading army frequently appeared in the newspaper. It was a newspaper that condensed his painstaking efforts, and its publication in Paris also played a great propaganda role in China's anti-Japanese resistance.

In February 1938, in order to get the "National Salvation Daily" to be distributed in the United States, Chen Dabang went to the United States. After that, he traveled to many countries. It was not until 1942 that he finally returned to China from Paris.

After returning to China, Chen Dabang began to inquire about his missing wife. In order to find his wife as soon as possible, he mobilized all the forces he could. But until the end of the War of Resistance, until the liberation of China, he still did not get any news about his wife.

Chen Dabang and his sister Chen Chunying

In 1950, Chen Dabang still did not find the whereabouts of his wife. But in this year, a movie "Zhao Yiman" shot by the Northeast Film Studio was released. Of course, Chen Dabang knew about this movie, but he did not associate his wife with this Zhao Yiman, after all: the name was completely different.

While Chen Dabang is trying to find his wife, Zhao Yiman's sister Li Kunjie is also looking for his own sister. In 1952, Li Kunjie returned to Yibin from Luzhou to work. During this period, Li Kunjie miraculously found the person who had revolutionized with her sister in the past, and in the meantime, she contacted her brother-in-law Chen Dabang, who was working in Zhongnanhai at this time.

After that, Li Kunjie and his brother-in-law Chen Dabang searched for his missing sister.

In 1954, Li Kunjie's search for his sister Li Kuntai was known to Zhao Yiman's revolutionary comrade He Chengxiang, and she immediately said excitedly: "Coincidentally, my previous comrade was Zhao Yiman, whose original name was also Li, and was also from Sichuan." Will they be the same person? ”

After Li Kunjie knew this speculation, he said with tears to the people who came to inquire: "Zhao Yiman, will my little sister be the anti-Japanese heroine Zhao Yiman?" Of course, Li Kunjie did not want her sister to be Zhao Yiman, because that meant that her sister was dead. This result is that she is most afraid to see it.

In order to find out the truth, Li Kunjie sent a photo of his sister to He Chengxiang. Soon, the news came: Zhao Yiman was Li Kuntai, and Li Kuntai was Zhao Yiman.

At the moment of learning the news, Li Kunjie and Chen Dabang were stunned, they couldn't believe this fact, and Ning Er Chen Yexian, who was already in his 20s at this time, couldn't believe his ears. After learning the truth, Chen Yexian, who came to his mother's birthplace, hugged his second aunt Li Kunjie and cried uncontrollably, while Chen Dabang was stunned for countless days.

Later, Chen Dabang personally copied a suicide note from Zhao Yiman to Ning Er. And Ning Er Chen Yexian tattooed the three words "Zhao Yiman" on his arm...

Zhao Yiman and Chen Dabang: Both graduated from Huangpu, and after she sacrificed 20 years, he realized his wife's true identity

Ning Er Chen Yexian

Heroes are always tragic, and so is Zhao Yiman, who used her life to save the country and save the people, but in the end she also buried her small family because of saving the country and saving the people. Because of her revolution, her son Chen Yexian has been sent to the fence since he was a child, because he has not been well cared for, and he has been plagued by inferiority and depression since he became an adult.

At the same time, due to the lack of good education, Chen Yexian's ability in all aspects is not good, which makes him inevitably frustrated and even used in his later work.

At the same time, because he could not be accompanied by his most beloved, Chen Dabang's heart has always been lonely. In the war years, he was barely able to hold on, but when peace really came, he couldn't hold back. Long-term loneliness and longing made him extremely depressed, and his son's unhappy marriage and poor work also affected his later years.

In 1966, 12 years after learning that his wife Li Kuntai was Zhao Yiman, Chen Dabang committed suicide due to persecution in that special disaster. When he died, he left his son with the words: "Believe that your father is innocent."

On March 1, 1979, the State Council rehabilitated Chen Dabang and held a solemn memorial service at the Babaoshan Revolutionary Cemetery.

On August 15, 1982, just three years after Chen Dabang was rehabilitated, he and Zhao Yiman's son Chen Yexian committed suicide because they were overwhelmed. He was only 54 years old when he died.

Come to think of it, the final outcome of Zhao Yiman's husband and son must be something that neither she nor the world wants to see, but such an ending seems inevitable. People say that "the back of greatness is sacrifice", and this sentence is most appropriate to put on Zhao Yiman's entire family.

In peacetime, the heroes are gone, but their stories will be passed on forever. This will be the best way for us to remember heroes, remember history, and cherish the present!
