It is reported that Geely and Lifan will set up a new joint venture company to focus on the field of power exchange travel, and the joint venture company will build more than 5,000 extremely fast power stations by 2025, covering more than 100 core urban cities.
The new joint venture between Geely and Lifan Technology provides a complete set of solutions for B-end and C-end users, including power exchange products and power exchange services. Based on the GBRC (Global Battery Rapid Change) power exchange platform, the power exchange model can adapt to a wide wheelbase range of 2700-3100mm, covering many categories such as cars, SUVs, MPVs and even logistics vehicles and light trucks, fully meeting the needs of different markets such as online ride-hailing cars, private cars, taxis, logistics vehicles and so on.
At the same time, the "power exchange" service will not only be "power exchange", but include the "vehicle power separation" management mode and ecological layout of vehicle battery operation, decommissioned battery energy storage and utilization, and scrap battery regeneration.
As of October 2021, a total of 1,086 substations have been built in China, an increase of more than 100% year-on-year. Although the construction of the replacement power station has begun to see the scale, compared with the charging mode, the volume of the power exchange mode is relatively small, and the development space is large. With the gradual recognition of the power exchange mode, a number of companies have said that they will carry out the research and development and layout of the power exchange mode.
