Zhitong Finance APP learned that Yuchai International (CYD. US) said its YCK05 hydrogen-powered engine recently achieved steady ignition and operation during a demonstration at Beijing Institute of Technology.
The company said the YCK05 engine was the first hydrogen engine to operate in the Chinese commercial vehicle market.
Mr. Weng Ming Hoh, President of China Yuchai, commented: "With our progress in the development of hydrogen-powered engines, we have developed into a domestic company with the largest portfolio of engine technologies, including traditional internal combustion engines, gas engines, hybrid engines and new energy technologies."
