Interior: The design is impressive

First of all, let's briefly review the design of this BYD meta PLUS. The new car adopts BYD's classic family-style Dragon Face design language, but it is obviously more refined and more designed than the existing BYD models. This is all because the Dragon Face design language adopted by BYD MetaPLUS has entered the 3.0 era. The just right chrome trim and rich lines make the front face very recognizable.
Headlights and taillights are full LED light source, which is basically a conventional configuration in new energy models. Motivation: One word "no problem"
In terms of power, this BYD Yuan PLUS is equipped with a permanent magnet synchronous motor, the maximum power of the motor can reach 150kW (204 horsepower), peak torque of 310Nm. The data performance is decent and not eye-catching. The official 0-100km/h acceleration time is 7.3s, although it is not fast, but it is enough for home use. The electric motor provides electrical support for blade battery packs with capacities of 50.1kWh and 60.5kWh, and the NEDC range of the two vehicles is 430km and 510km, respectively.
In terms of chassis structure, the meta PLUS series adopts the front McPherson independent suspension and the rear multi-link independent suspension. Although its "Zero Hundred" acceleration takes 7.3 seconds, it seems that the performance is not strong. And even compared with many gasoline cars, such results are not superior, but its advantage is in the speed range of 0-80km/h. In this speed range, its acceleration performance is still quite fierce. Even if you want to feel the feeling of gravity sticking you to the back of the chair, this meta PLUS is not difficult to do. Simply switch the driving mode to SPORT and press the electric door pedal off the soles of your feet without reservation, and you will be able to sense all the energy from the electric motor from both the energy meter and the limb. Of course, fast is indeed very fast, but it is not fast that will produce a sense of vertigo, after all, the power of the electric motor is there, and the mission of this meta PLUS is to meet all your daily needs, not to please you.
After so many years of research and development and research, BYD's new energy vehicles can now be said to be almost impeccable in terms of driving sense and power system performance. The power performance is linear and powerful, the chassis texture is delicate and comfortable, and the handling performance is soft and smooth. Taking the most commonly used NORMar mode as an example, as the electric door pedal deepens, this metaPLUS will release the power smoothly. In the past, we always judged whether the power performance of a new energy vehicle was close to that of a gasoline car to determine whether this was a good driving experience. But today, such a method of judgment is not fair. If you have experienced a lot of new energy vehicles, you will have this feeling, judging the smoothness of the power, not only to see how it feels to step on, but as the electric door is lifted, whether its recovery force is linear or abrupt. This metaPLUS is not equipped with a single-pedal mode that many people are not accustomed to, but the reverse power generation efficiency of kinetic energy recovery is not a single mode, but can be enhanced or weakened with the lifting range of the electric door pedal and the pedaling force of the brake pedal. Even if the kinetic energy recovery force is adjusted to "strong", the kinetic energy recovery process will not have an obvious sense of drag. In this way, the kinetic energy recovery system can recover electrical energy while decelerating in different states with relatively reasonable logic. Under the premise of enhancing efficiency, it also ensures the comfort of driving and the smoothness of power recovery.
Thanks to the battery layout adopted by new energy vehicles, new energy models with the same chassis are generally lower in center of gravity and have a better driving sense than gasoline models. The chassis center of gravity of this meta PLUS is also very low, and although there is no advantage in weight, the chassis sensitivity in the corners is great. Daily transportation can also feel that the texture of the chassis is very solid. Fine bumps can be absorbed and dissolved by the shock absorber, but when passing through the joints of the speed bump and the asphalt road, some road sense can still be felt. However, there will be no excessive flutter and hanging cheap feeling, and the overall chassis performance is still quite stable.
The original standard horse brand UC6 tires are still very quiet when driving, and there will be no obvious noise from the tires in the car. But because of this, when cruising at high speed, the wind noise from the A-pillar will be somewhat obvious. After consulting with the official staff, it was explained that since the model driven in this test drive was the first batch of test cars, the assembly accuracy of the parts was different from the standard of the mass production car, which may lead to high-speed "whistle" or high-frequency noise due to the different width of the skin joints. Of course, I also believe that such problems can be alleviated or even solved on the mass production vehicle.
Having said that the more conventional dynamic experience experience, I will share with you an interesting feature. This BYD Meta PLUS is equipped with a "comfortable stop" function, when we turn on this function, we press the brake pedal with normal force and feel that the braking force will be weakened at the moment of the final brake. In this way, the vehicle will brake in a very gentle manner, and all the occupants in the car, including the driver, will not have the discomfort of leaning forward at the moment of braking. Of course, I didn't have the opportunity to test the difference in braking distance when turning on and off, but the subjective feeling difference was not large. So, if it doesn't involve patent issues, this feature is really worth promoting.
