It seems only a matter of time before Zidane takes charge of another European heavyweight. During his five-year spell at Real Madrid ((two spells), Zinedine Zidane made Real Madrid a winning general, and his coaching ability was proved by his ability to win three Champions League titles and two La Liga titles.

Perhaps he is not as sought after as other coaches due to his lack of experience in coaching multiple teams, but his record speaks for itself.

Thomas Tuchel has been in charge for Mainz for the longest time, leading them to 183 appearances, but his biggest moments have come at other clubs. During his time at Chelsea, Thomas Tuchel unexpectedly led the team to Champions League glory and he also won two consecutive Ligue 1 titles at Paris Saint-Germain. His performances at Bayern Munich have not been smooth this season, so he left early, but his ability to lead the team is unquestionable.

4. Pochettino

Mauricio Pochettino has presided over a tumultuous season for Chelsea, but they have ended the season on encouraging note, which is why the news of his departure two days after the final Chelsea game would come as a shock.

Antonio Conte is another sleek manager who has had both international and club experience during his managerial career. Conte has managed Inter Milan and Juventus and has enjoyed great success in Italy at home. In the 16/17 season, he added his only Premier League trophy to Chelsea's trophy cabinet.

6. Jose Mourinho

Coached teams: Roma, Tottenham, Manchester United, Chelsea, Real Madrid, Inter Milan, Porto, Leiria, Benfica

Years ago, Jose Mourinho was the go-to manager of all the top teams. The experienced Portuguese coach has had a one-of-a-kind career, having managed teams such as Real Madrid, Chelsea and Porto with great success. However, his coaching experience at Tottenham and Manchester United has taken his qualifications down a notch or two.

7. Roberto De Zerbi

Roberto De Zerbi excelled in his first season at Brighton, playing some of the most engaging football in the Premier League and leading the Seagulls to European qualification. Brighton's 2023/24 season has not been as good as it could have been, but it has still been an impressive one by their usual standards.

Roberto De Zerbi had to face a number of injury concerns in his second season in charge of Brighton and on the eve of the final game of the season, he announced that he would be leaving the club this summer. With many top team manager positions vacant, he could take on the most important role of his career.

8. Allegri

Coached teams: Juventus, AC Milan, Cagliari, Sassuicide, Grosseto, Arianes

Juventus are going through their slump, having not won the Serie A title for four consecutive seasons, and after sacking Maallegri, they will begin the next season under a new manager. The Italian boss took charge of Juventus for the second time in 2021 but did not perform as well as he did in his first spell, when he won five league titles and four Coppa Italia titles.

In Allegri's final game in charge, Juventus won the title by beating Atalanta in the Coppa Italia final, but the manager was sacked by Juventus shortly after the game for his actions in the game.

9. Flick

Coached teams: German national team, Bayern Munich

On the surface, Flick and the German team seem to be a match made in heaven. Flick was an assistant to Loew during Germany's World Cup triumph in 2014 and seven years later he eventually became Germany's manager, but managed only 25 bad games.

During Flick's two years at Bayern Munich, he lost just eight of his 86 games and won the European treble. Therefore, the Heidelberg-born 58-year-old veteran has proven his worth at club level and there will be no shortage of offers as long as he is willing.

Despite David Moyes' impressive European success with West Ham last season, it is clear that the two sides are on the verge of parting ways this season. Hammers fans are unhappy with Moyes' style of football and they will embark on a new journey under Julen Lopetegui.

As for Moyes, there is a suspicion that he will not struggle for a job offer. The Scotman's disappointing spells at Manchester United, Real Sociedad and Sunderland have taken a toll on his reputation, but he has rebuilt it during his time at West Ham so he won't be out of work for long unless he wants to.

11. Graham Porter

Coached teams: Chelsea, Brighton, Swansea, Östersund

There is no doubt that Graham Potter's declining popularity is due to his disappointing performances at Chelsea. But the work he's done before has been brilliant – especially at Brighton. Graham Potter made the leap from Sweden's fourth division to Stamford Bridge in the space of 11 years, showcasing his excellent managerial qualities.

Since being sacked by Chelsea in 2023, he has been at home. If the Three Lions and Gareth Southgate go their separate ways after this summer's European Championships, Graham Potter could be one of the FA's candidates.

12. Nico Kovacs

He has coached teams such as Wolfsburg, Monaco, Bayern Munich, Eintracht Frankfurt and Croatia

Nico Kovac has been disappointing in the first two teams and his credibility has been depleted, but with his resume there is still a chance to get a chance to coach a top-flight team. Kovac won the German Cup with Eintracht Frankfurt in 2018 and joined Bayern Munich in the same year, winning the league and cup double with the Bavarian giants.

Kovac left Bayern Munich in 2019 by mutual consent and has since coached at Monaco and Wolfsburg, before being sacked by the latter in March 2024. Kovac may not be offered a top-tier job these days, but the former Croatia captain could get a chance to rebuild his coaching career.
