On January 1, 2022, the first multimedia exhibition of "Dunhuang Wonderland - The Mystery of the Legendary Cave 220 Caves" will be unveiled at shangsheng xinshou, a good place on the doorstep. Through a wealth of exhibition methods such as multimedia theater, scene creation, and physical restoration of mural instruments, the audience has the opportunity to walk into medieval history and life from today's caves and murals, immerse themselves in the prosperous landscape of the early Tang Dynasty, and witness the bright style of murals a thousand years ago.
Dunhuang belongs to everyone
As the first offline multimedia special cave special exhibition officially authorized and guided by the Dunhuang Research Institute, "Dunhuang Wonderland - The Mystery of the Legendary Cave 220 Caves" focuses on the mural paintings of the 220th cave of the "special caves" of the Mogao Caves, reflecting the folk paintings of The Tang Dynasty Music and Dance, and is another exploration of the creative transformation and innovative dissemination of the digital achievements of the Dunhuang Research Institute grottoes. The exhibition aims to promote Dunhuang culture and the achievements of digital protection of Dunhuang Grottoes, attract more young people to get close to the historical treasures of Chinese culture, and continue to arouse the inherent cultural self-confidence of Chinese sons and daughters.
The exhibition chooses the music and dance that is closest to life as the entry point, takes the music and dance images on the mural as the theme, focuses on the representative of the music and dance image - Cave 220 of the Mogao Caves, and unveils a corner of the picture of the life of the early Tang Dynasty through the murals. Starting from a single special cave is also a creative attempt of this exhibition on the theme of Dunhuang.

The first audio-painting interactive song and dance drama will be staged
Guided by the exploration of the legendary cave, Cave 220 of the Early Tang Dynasty of Mogao Grottoes, the exhibition leads the audience from the music and dance in the murals to the music and dance of life. Cave 220 of Mogao Caves was founded in the early Tang Dynasty and contains the inscription of the sixteenth year of Zhenguan (642). The scene of the medicine man's transformation on the north wall of the main room of the cave occupies one-third of the entire picture, and the scene is grand. At the same time, this is also the earliest and true sense of the warp music dance map, and its theme and layout are of epoch-making significance.

The exhibition chooses to focus on Cave 220 of the Mogao Caves, not only because of its legend and artistic achievements, but also because it opens a window for the audience to understand the life of Chang'an in the early Tang Dynasty. The large-scale orchestra configuration in the murals, the large lamp wheel lamp trees, and the music and dance scenes that most scholars believe to be Hu Xuan dances, various clues point to the source of the murals to the large lantern festival on the first night of Chang'an City.
Every Friday and Saturday night, the first domestic music and painting interactive song and dance drama "The Other Shore Flower" will be staged here. The dance drama is based on Dunhuang murals and tells a fantastic love story. "The Other Side of the Flower" specially invites well-known choreographers and emerging dancers to fully develop more possibilities for the integration of body movements with other media through the use of new media and new venue models. Brings the ancient oriental aesthetics into a new media context, bringing a richer sensory experience to the audience.
Bring traditional culture into city life
Since its opening, Shangsheng New Institute has continued to create cultural life scenes for surrounding residents, and this time, together with the Dunhuang Research Institute, the century-old naval club in the park has been transformed into a "cave" to recreate the amazing glimpse of Dunhuang culture. The exhibition "Dunhuang Wonderland - The Mystery of the Legendary Cave 220 Caves" is also a multi-level "ancient and modern dialogue" - the fusion of Tang Dynasty art and modern art from Dunhuang murals.

The exhibition pioneered the creation of a composite space, introducing new formats such as liquor stores and dance dramas in the exhibition space, breaking the restrictions of the exhibition space. Every night, the exhibition hall will be transformed into a desert-themed "Moonrise Liquor Store", integrating the scene of secular feasting and drinking in the Dunhuang murals into the nightlife of modern people. A variety of special liquors open the audience's imagination of Dunhuang from the visual and taste point of view.

Through diversified urban renewal strategies, on the basis of the overall protection of historical buildings, Vanke updates the internal space functions and continues to provide new use value for the city and citizens, which not only ensures the continuation of the texture of history and culture, but also awakens the vitality of the entire Shangsheng Xinshou field, becoming a dynamic park open all day long.
The exhibition will be open to the public from January 1 to March 22, 2022, where visitors can enjoy the new form of Dunhuang culture during traditional Chinese festivals such as the Spring Festival and Lantern Festival. At the beginning of the new year, let the beauty of traditional culture be integrated into the cultural life of the city, and narrow the distance between China's brilliant culture and the public.
