Lu Lu from Xinxiang, Henan Province, is a flute player. In addition to the performance, she is working on restoring more of her musical instruments to bring the thousand-year-old music to life. Elected as a member of the Henan Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference for the first time this year, she gave suggestions such as building the "first township of Jiaoxi" and promoting the intangible cultural heritage matrix.

The gong is a multi-form multi-source musical instrument, which has a great status in ancient China, and is on a par with national intangible cultural heritage such as guzheng and pipa, and was once used by court bands, but was gradually lost. In recent years, artists have restored the thousand-year-old multi-shaped hoop based on the shapes depicted by the remaining murals and reliefs in the caves, which resemble a harp and the main body is a bow.

The attraction of Lu Lu began more than 20 years ago. She was studying at the Affiliated High School of the China Conservatory of Music and met the founder of contemporary Chinese Jiao art who was selecting a successor. "Ignorant and understanding, I was quickly attracted to the horn and the beautiful notes it emitted." Lu Lu said.

In 2018, Lu Lu and her team built a Jiaoqi Art Industrial Park in their hometown of Xinxiang. As a performer, Lu Lu's original intention is to be able to have a satisfactory pipe. However, as time went on and her love grew, she slowly embarked on a road of rescue protection and research, and founded the Gongqi Museum, which restored and displayed the musical instruments on the murals.

Lu Lu said that the restoration process is quite complicated, and it takes about fifteen processes to complete a replica of the jiao, "collecting mural pictures, making engineering drawings, extracting data, including string length, thickness, pitch, pitch, and timbre must be taken into account, and then produced." ”

At present, Lu Lu and her team have restored nearly 200 kinds of quilts, which are different. In her view, restoring musical instruments is to resurrect thousand-year-old music, so that the musical instruments are as close as possible to the antiquities in the murals, and there have been murals related to the Longmen Grottoes, the eaves of the Shaolin Temple, and the Mogao Grottoes in Dunhuang.

Lu Lu told reporters that there are many branches of Jiao, and at least the historical imprint of Jiaoqi can be found in more than 60 countries. Gong Qiao has different names in different countries, and she refers to the instruments that resemble 箜篌 in different countries as Pan Gong Instruments.

In Lu Lu's view, every time he goes overseas to exchange and perform, he will resonate with the local performers, and the same shaped musical instruments are depicted with the imprints of different countries, and the performers interact and communicate with different musical expressions, "this is not only the exchange of art, but also the exchange of Eastern and Western cultures."
