Ye Zhou's "Dunhuang Benji" is the first long-form masterpiece in China to use the novel style as a long biography of Dunhuang, divided into upper and lower parts, with a total of 1.09 million words, describing a series of thrilling historical events that occurred in the Hexi Corridor between 1910 and 1938, especially on the land of Dunhuang, and concentrated on the actual encounters and mental processes of the people in the western region in finding the way, opening up the road, and expanding the road. The book was published by Yilin Publishing House in December 2018, and after being serialized in "Fangcao" magazine, it attracted wide acclaim, and as of now, it still continues to sell well, becoming a "phenomenon-level" work, which has been praised by the industry as "the first long-form masterpiece in the form of a novel for Dunhuang" and ""White Deer Plain" in the Hexi Corridor". In August 2019, he was nominated for the 10th Mao Dun Literature Award, anchored by studio artist Li Yemo in April 2020, broadcast on the Central People's Radio, and won the 4th Shi Nai'an Literature Award in November 2020.
