Political commissar of the Second Army of the Northeast Anti-Japanese Alliance, Yang Jingyu sacrificed him to command the battle, and the Japanese army rewarded his body with a heavy reward
The geographical location of China's northeast region is special, so after the outbreak of the all-out War of Resistance, the anti-Japanese action in the northeast was very different from that in Guannei.
The famous anti-Japanese general I want to talk about today is Yang Jingyu's partner, and after Yang Jingyu's sacrifice, he continued to lead the Northeast Anti-Japanese Coalition Army to resist the Japanese invaders, and finally died heroically.
He was Wei Zhengmin, one of the outstanding leaders of the Northeast Anti-Japanese Coalition Army.
Wei Zhengmin, born in 1909 to a peasant family in Shanxi, his original name was Guan Youwei, and he used 10 pseudonyms for the needs of the War of Resistance.
When the September 18 Incident broke out in 1931, Wei Zhengmin was only 22 years old, but he was already the secretary of the Harbin Municipal Party Committee, leading the Northeast Anti-Japanese League to fight against the japanese behind enemy lines in the Areas occupied by the Japanese Army. During this period, a difficult case broke out, known in history as the "Minsheng Group Incident".
Because the Japanese stirred up dissension in the middle, the Koreans formed a "people's livelihood regiment" to break into the anti-Japanese armed forces and began to divide the anti-Japanese armed forces.
As a result, the Chinese gradually developed hatred for the Koreans, and those comrades who were close to the Koreans were implicated, and many people had already died.
At the critical moment, Wei Zhengmin stood up and ended this infighting. In order to stabilize the anti-Japanese situation, he burned all the materials of the Minsheng Regiment. Because the matter was handled well, Wei Zhengmin also gained the trust of the North Koreans.
After participating in the Seventh International Congress, Wei Zhengmin brought good news, and the organization decided that the Koreans in the northeast could continue to stay in the Anti-Japanese League, or they could form an anti-Japanese armed force on their own.
Subsequently, Wei Zhengmin incorporated the Korean guerrillas into the Independent Division of the Second Army of the Northeast Anti-Japanese Coalition, and this anti-Japanese armed force later became the earliest Korean People's Army team, and the commander-in-chief of the Korean People's Army was Kim Il Sung.
Because of this incident, Kim Il Sung was very grateful to Wei Zhengmin. After his death, Kim Il Sung entrusted the people to find his son as a way to express the gratitude of the Korean people.
Wei Zhengmin also personally led the troops to resist Japan, and after reorganization, he was the political commissar of the Second Army of the Northeast Anti-Japanese Coalition Army. General Yang Jingyu, a famous anti-Japanese general, was the commander of the First Army. Later, the First Army and the Second Army merged, and the two of them became good partners, and the Japanese puppet army in the northeast was scared.
Although Wei Zhengmin was a political work cadre, his ability to fight wars was also good. On that occasion, when he led his army into Maojiang County, he heard the sound of logging in the distance, and he ordered the scouts to look closely, and it turned out that the Japanese army was cutting wood for fire.
Wei Zhengmin decisively led the warriors up a hill, used machine guns to shoot wildly at the devils down the hill, eliminated all the devils, and finally captured a large number of weapons and equipment and Canned Japanese beef.
The Northeast Anti-Japanese Coalition Army came and went without a trace, which caused the Japanese army a great headache, so they came up with a cruel method to seal the mountain and starve the anti-Japanese coalition army to death.
Wei Zhengmin led the soldiers of the Northeast Anti-Japanese League to nibble on tree bark, dig wild vegetables, and give the apples captured from the Japanese army to the thin Yang Jingyu to eat, and the captured canned meat to the wounded to eat.
However, the environment and conditions in the mountains were too harsh, even if Yang Jingyu and Wei Zhengmin had strong willpower, they could not influence the thoughts of their subordinates.
In the end, the traitor betrayed Yang Jingyu, and the famous anti-Japanese general was brutally killed by the Japanese.
The Japanese army believed that the Northeast Anti-Japanese Coalition Army would be scattered without Yang Jingyu, but Wei Zhengmin stood up in time, stabilized the situation, and continued to resist the Japanese with Yang Jingyu's legacy, the battle was more fierce than before, and the Japanese army was beaten very badly.
However, not so many people could endure such a harsh environment, and Wei Zhengmin, like Yang Jingyu, was betrayed by traitors and finally killed by the Japanese army and heroically sacrificed.
What is infuriating is that the Japanese army hated Wei Zhengmin and rewarded Wei Zhengmin's body with heavy money. Those traitors were very active, and it didn't take long to bring Wei Zhengmin's body to the Japanese army.
The Japanese army was really inhumane, not only cut off his head, but also hung his head on the city wall to show the public, and set fire to his body.
With the joint efforts of the Chinese military and civilians, in August 1945, the Japanese invaders were defeated and driven back to Japan. After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, the local government found Wei Zhengmin's skeleton and reburied him.
