BEIJING, Dec. 29 (Xinhua) -- The Centennial History of Chinese Archaeology (1921-2021), co-authored by 276 experts and scholars from three generations of old, middle-aged and young generations of Chinese archaeology, in 4 volumes and 9.172 million words, has been officially published and distributed by the China Social Sciences Publishing House, which is the grand finale to present the centenary of modern Chinese archaeology in 2021.

Wang Wei said that the "Centennial History of Chinese Archaeology (1921-2021)" is a collective project that has been completed by the combination of old, middle-aged and young people in the Chinese archaeological community and the cooperation of all three years. The book divides Chinese archaeology in the past hundred years into four major parts: Stone Age Archaeology, Xia, Shang, and Zhou Dynasty Archaeology, Qin and Han To Song, Liao, Jin, Yuan, Ming, and Qing Dynasties, Scientific and Technological Archaeology, and various archaeological special topics, and decomposes each part into about 50 research topics, and each research field reviews according to the chronological order and the context of research progress.

Wang Wei said that the publication of "A Century of Chinese Archaeology (1921-2021)" is a very meaningful event in the centenary history of Chinese archaeology, and it is also a good commemoration of the centenary of Chinese archaeology.
