Among them, the theme exhibition of "Science and Technology Empowerment, Ice and Snow Chasing Dreams" is located on the basement floor of Beijing Science Center, and the immersive science and technology Winter Olympics theme exhibition uses scene-based and interactive experiences to make everyone feel as if they are in the Winter Olympic Arena on the "Snow Mountain". The exhibition is divided into four parts: "Winter Olympic Green Technology, Ice and Snow Acceleration, Smart New Experience, and One in 300 Million", aiming to let the general public understand the application of science and technology in the Winter Olympics in an all-round and close distance, and the exhibition time will last until the end of January.
The offline theme activity of "Ice and Snow Chasing Dreams, Together to the Future" integrates popular science lectures with scene performances, and presents wonderful popular science dramas, scientific experimental performances and popular science lectures by many well-known experts and scholars to the public.
The theme event site is divided into four chapters. In the first chapter of "Ice and Snow Covenant, Gathering in Beijing", Zheng Fang, the general head of the design of the National Speed Skating Hall (Ice Ribbon) and the National Aquatics Center curling arena of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, talked about the design concept and inspiration of the "Ice Ribbon"; and explained to everyone how to use the power of scientific and technological innovation to achieve the transformation process of the Water Cube "from water to ice". Subsequently, the ice and snow short drama "Mysterious Torchbearer" was brilliantly staged.
The second chapter is "Ice and Snow Venues, Green Technology", Wang Zhifeng, a researcher at the Institute of Electrical Engineering of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, a doctoral supervisor at the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the director of the Key Laboratory of Solar Thermal Utilization and Photovoltaic Systems of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, led his "Renewable Energy Little Star Team" to bring a popular science lecture on "Green Energy in the 2022 Winter Olympics".
The third chapter is "Ice and Snow Sports, Wisdom Acceleration", Li Bo, director of the Wind Tunnel Laboratory of Beijing Jiaotong University, introduced how China's first sports professional wind tunnel was built and how the wind tunnel assisted athletes in training and other popular science knowledge through video link. Liu Li, the general leader of the "Key Technologies for the Research and Development of High-performance Clothing in Winter Sports and Training Competitions" and a professor at the Beijing Institute of Fashion, shared the "black technology" in the Olympic suits on the spot, and explained the science around the design theme of the Winter Olympic preparation clothing" "fast", "protective", "warm" and "beautiful". Then, the ice and snow experiment session took the stage, and the on-site interaction created "ice" and "snow" with scientific experiments, and this magical "snow-making experiment" and "water into ice" demonstration aroused the strong interest of the children's audience.
In the fourth chapter, "Ice and Snow Dreams, Infinite Possibilities", Ji Cheng, a teacher at the Winter Olympic Training College of Beijing Sport University and an international referee of snowmobiles and steel frame snowmobiles, introduced the competition projects and interesting highlights of the Beijing Winter Olympic Games, and sent a wonderful guide to watching the Beijing Winter Olympic Games.
