BEIJING, March 31 (Xinhua) -- The 6th International Conference on The Development of Innovation and Emerging Industries (IEID), co-sponsored by the Chinese Academy of Engineering, the Shanghai Municipal Government and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, was held online and offline in Beijing and Shanghai on the 31st. The conference focused on the frontier of engineering science and technology development and the hot spots of emerging industry development, and invited Chinese and foreign experts and scholars to conduct open interactive exchanges around the theme of "scientific and technological innovation leads the development of emerging industries" and talk about new opportunities for global scientific and technological innovation.

Li Xiaohong, president of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Zhang Wei, vice mayor of Shanghai, and Xin Guobin, vice minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, delivered speeches at the opening ceremony of the meeting. Gao Wen, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and director of Pengcheng Laboratory, John L. Anderson, president of the American Academy of Engineering, Johann-Dietrich (Jan) W rner, president of the German Academy of Science and Engineering, and Nobel laureate Bernard L. Feringa were invited to attend the meeting by video, respectively, with the themes of "AI Open Source Ecology and Its Data Security", "The Role of Innovation in Global Crisis and Restoration", "Today's Innovation", "Intelligent Response Materials Based on Molecular Motors" Give a keynote academic report on the topic.

In the afternoon of the same day, the conference held the "National Engineering Science and Technology High-end Think Tank Forum", and a series of major consulting research results of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, the relevant achievements of the academy journal "Engineering", and the "2021 Global Top Ten Engineering Achievements" and "2021 Global Engineering Frontiers" were all released at the forum. Zhao Xiangeng, Army, Peng Suping, Sun Fengchun, Zhao Chunjiang, Dong Jiahong, Wu Fengchang, 7 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, respectively made a standardization special report, a new generation of artificial intelligence safety report, China hydrogen energy and fuel cell development report, a new energy vehicle carbon accounting platform report, a smart agriculture development strategy research report, China's smart health care blue book (2022) report, water security strategy research report, and then launched a roundtable forum session. Conduct Q&A interactive exchanges on hot topics of concern to online netizens and on-site listeners.

It is understood that this international conference on innovation and emerging industry development also set up 8 parallel thematic sessions. Among them, five parallel branches of artificial intelligence technology and industry symposium, integrated circuit symposium, new material technology and industry symposium, innovative design and digital creative technology and industry symposium, and modern transportation symposium have been held in advance, and three parallel branches of carbon peak carbon neutral and related technologies and industries, intelligent manufacturing technology and industry thematic meeting, biomedical technology and industry symposium were held simultaneously during the conference.
