Zhidong reported on April 28 that on April 27, on the occasion of the 113th anniversary of Tsinghua University, Tsinghua University established the School of Artificial Intelligence, with Yao Chizhi, winner of the Turing Award in 2000 and academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, as the first dean. Academician Yao is the first Chinese scholar to receive the Turing Award since its inception.
According to Tsinghua University, the School of Artificial Intelligence of Tsinghua University focuses on the two key directions of "core basic theory and architecture of artificial intelligence" and "artificial intelligence + X", and builds China's independent "AI top talent and original innovation base" with high positioning and new mechanisms.
Tsinghua University has a deep accumulation in artificial intelligence talent training and scientific research, and is one of the earliest institutions to carry out artificial intelligence teaching and scientific research in China, and a group of Tsinghua alumni have now become the backbone of the artificial intelligence industry in mainland China.
