One of the Chinese characters before the 12th century was the official script of the Vietnamese state, in the 13th century, Vietnam created a new type of writing on the basis of Chinese characters, that is, to borrow a Chinese character similar to the Vietnamese pronunciation and a Chinese character with a Similar Vietnamese semantics, the two characters were combined into the Vietnamese script, this word is called the Murmur, when the French colonized Vietnam, the missionary Alexander Rhode used the Latin alphabet to design a new Vietnamese script in accordance with the French, and France in order to cut off the relationship between Vietnam and the suzerainty of the Qing Dynasty, the new script was strongly promoted. So the influence of Chinese characters in Vietnam has weakened a lot.
