Xie Jin (1369-1415) is a big gentleman, also known as a gentleman, a spring rain, and a happy yi. Jiangxi Jishui people. Good at calligraphy, small letters are exquisite, grass is good, the use of pen is exquisite, unexpected. Especially good at wild grass, the penmanship is calm and strong, repeatedly sideways. Dry silk is involved, very varied, but there are also the drawbacks of skillful entanglement, indulgence, and insufficient implications. Together with Xu Wei and Yang Shen, they are known as the three great talents of the Ming Dynasty.
Xie Jin cursive calligraphy opened the late Ming crazy grass precedent, Ming Wukuan's "Collection of the Family of Zai Weng" said: "When Yongle was in Yongle, people were multi-functional books, when led by the scholar Xie Gong, the next pen was smooth and skillful. He Qiaoyuan's "Famous Mountain Collection" said: "Jinxue Shu obtained the Fa from Wei Su and Zhou Boqi." His books are proud and embellished, and his spirit is multiplied. The inkblots include "Zishu Poetry Volume", "Book Tang Poetry", "You QixingYan Poem", "Song Zhao Hengdian Trial Incident" and so on.
The Zishu Poetry Scroll was composed by Xie Jin during his tenure as an official in Guangxi, and was composed in the eighth year of Yongle (1410), when Xie Jin was forty-two years old, and he entered Beijing from a distant frontier to play an affair, and was imprisoned shortly thereafter, and died tragically five years later.
It was once collected by Qing'anqi, Qianlong, Jiaqing, and Xuantong Imperial Palace. The calligraphy of this volume is super easy, unrestrained and free, and the dots are drawn out of the rules, and there is no sloppy far-fetched. The management of the chapter is particularly ingenious, and the whole article is completed in one go, and the spirit is self-prepared, showing the extraordinary skill of Xie Jin's control of the long scroll. From the self-knowledge at the end of the volume, it is revealed that Xie Jin himself is also quite proud of this volume.
The Seven Star Rock Poems are 22.8 centimeters long and 61.2 centimeters wide, and are now in the Palace Museum in Beijing.
The works have been collected by Zhu Zhichi, An Qi, Qianlong Imperial Palace, Gu Song, Pan Hou, Wu Lifu, Zhang Heng, etc., and there are 16 seals of the Shangzhao family collection. The poem is found in Xie Jin's Wen Yi Ji (文毅集), volume 5, "Title Lingui Seven Star Rocks", which was written in the sixth year of Yongle (1408), when Xie Jin was 40 years old. His calligraphy is mature and self-contained, his pen and ink are unrestrained, arrogant and embellished with intentions.
Xie Jin's "Song Zhao Hengdian Trial Affair", now in the Shanghai Museum, the first three lines of this volume are slightly restrained, and from the fourth line onwards, they have gradually become smooth and unrestrained. The pen is vigorous and vigorous, sharp and changeable, suddenly frustrated and rounded, and free to swing. Its ink is thick and dry, the ink color is dark as lacquer, and the ink rhymes, adding to the style. Xie Jin's cursive writing, which is famous in the history of calligraphy, is on a par with the "Three Song Dynasties" of the early Ming Dynasty, namely Song Ke, Song Guang, and Song Pu.
