Classic models are expected to be "reborn"? Peugeot will be fully electrified by 2030

According to the Economic News Network of Buenos Aires, Argentina, although it is believed that the electrification plan of all brands of The Strandes Company is realistic in the medium term, since the beginning of this year, Peugeot CEO Linda Jackson has gone further, she issued a statement through the Automotive News Network, saying that at least in Europe, Peugeot will only produce electric vehicles from 2030.

"In Europe, all of our models will be electrified by 2030, but we still have to make sure we offer our international customers an internal combustion engine vehicle product," Linda Jackson said. With this decision, Peugeot will meet its target five years ahead of the deadline set by the European Commission that the EU will no longer produce cars with internal combustion engines from 2035. In fact, 70% of the brand's continental models currently have electrified versions, either purely electric or partially through hybrid models.

Thanks to the 4 platforms developed by Strantis, the so-called STLA Small, Medium, Large platform and Frame platform, this decision will move towards the field of electric vehicles faster and with greater intensity than many rival brands and will create the right environment for the emergence of new models. At the same time, models in all segments can be produced on a unique technical basis.

So why not dream of achieving a project that stayed halfway as a concept car in 2018 (but it had such a big impact). If it hadn't required a huge investment, it might have become a milestone in this sustainable and intelligent technology.

We're talking about the Peugeot e-Legend, one of the stars of the 2018 Paris Motor Show, an autonomous electric car based on the lines of a Peugeot 504 coupe from the 1970s. At the time, jean-philippe Imprato, the brand's CEO at the time, announced that despite the sheer number of consulting and manufacturing orders for e-Legend, Peugeot could not afford to pay more than 250 million euros to realize the project.

But today's world has changed dramatically, and now Peugeot will invest in electrifying all of its models, so that dream could come true, especially since other heavyweight models are also involved, such as the Renault R5. Thanks to the electric platform, the Renault R5 is expected to be reborn in a few years, and this classic model of the same era as the Peugeot 504 will also get a second life.

Maybe peugeot e-Legend is too avant-garde. It was the last Peugeot piece by PSA Group star designer Giles Vidal. After completing the best Peugeot model design since 1996, he decided to switch to Renault in 2020.

The e-Legend is designed with Peugeot DNA. Elegant and noble, but also modern and sporty. It is clearly designed to attract the attention of a brand's followers. It is a modern car with a "retro" design.

But what you can't see from the appearance of the Peugeot e-Legend is the most valuable thing that is masked by its design. It is purely electric and can also be selected as an automatic, semi-automatic or manual driving mode as required. (Compilation/Tian Ce)
