However, Ou Shounian not only failed to change the decline of the nationalist army on the battlefield, but also became a prisoner himself, and was slapped when he was captured. What's going on here?
In the Battle of Eastern Henan in 1948, Huaye took the lead in capturing Kaifeng City in the first stage, and more than 100,000 troops from the two corps of District Shounian and Qiu Qingquan in the second stage came to reinforcements. The strength of the district corps was inferior to that of the Qiu corps, and ou Shounian was unwilling to cooperate with Qiu Qingquan in battle, and as a result, the entire 75th Division under the jurisdiction of the 7 corps was annihilated, and its corps headquarters also fell under siege. Ou Shounian originally wanted to rely on the more than 10,000 troops and armored troops in his hand to hold on, waiting for friendly and neighboring troops to come and join forces to break the siege, but he did not think that the combat effectiveness of the troops was too poor, and before the friendly troops could lean over, he became a prisoner.
When He was captured on July 6, he was hiding in a tank, but his tracks were blown up and he was unable to maneuver to break through. The commander of the corps, seeing that he could not escape, pretended to be calm, took the initiative to open the hatch cover of the tank, and jumped from above, moving vigorously and neatly. When Ou Shounian jumped out of the tank, he was surrounded by more than a dozen Huaye soldiers with submachine guns glaring at him. I thought that the district commander would be a little timid, raised his hands to obediently cooperate, who knew that he actually held his head up (Ou Shounian is a Cantonese, PingSu combed his back, the hairstyle is not messy) with a relaxed face, after sorting out the crown, he slowly and leisurely came out with a sentence: "I want to see you Commander Su." ”
It is reasonable to say that Ou Shounian is a lieutenant general in the Kuomintang army or a relative of the patriotic general Cai Tingkai, and although the kuomintang corps commander's rank corresponds to the Huaye unit of our army slightly lower than that of the chief of the Noji Division, it does not seem too excessive to meet the requirements of the chief. However, when he said this, the tank was surrounded by ordinary soldiers of our army, and the first person who knew who jumped down was Ou Shounian. Moreover, the district's attitude was frivolous, and he even said that he wanted to see the head of the field army as soon as he came up, which was considered to be provocative and contemptuous.
One of the soldiers, thinking that he was just a tanker, was enraged in an instant, did not say a word, and went up to give Ou Shounian a big ear scraper. Ou Shounian was stunned by this. Later, after Ou Shounian's identity was confirmed, he was still taken to the head of the Noji and gave some views on the war situation in eastern Henan. Later, he did not enter the war criminals management center, and our army handled him more leniently, and he was released less than 2 years after being captured.
Of course, our army's military discipline is strict, and the situation of capturing prisoners during the Liberation War is definitely a violation of discipline. Therefore, there are only two recorded senior Kuomintang generals who were beaten when they were captured, and there were only two in the whole war. One was Ou Shounian and the other was Song Ruike, commander of the reorganized 66th Division. Unlike Ou Shounian, Song Ruike was not beaten because of his uninhibited attitude, he was slapped by the angry subordinate commander nakano when he proposed to let our army treat his subordinates preferentially after he was captured in 47 years, because of the stubborn resistance of Song Ruike's troops, the casualties of our army in the Battle of Yangshan Ji were also relatively large.
