Longwangdian is a relatively large town on the Eastern Henan Plain. Like many towns in Henan's Huangpan District, in order to defend against the gushing Yellow River, Longwangdian also built a large circle of tall and thick walls, and Ou Shounian gathered the corps headquarters and the reorganized 75th Division and several regiments of troops here.
The enemy dug trenches outside the walls, cut down tall crops, set up multi-layered deer blocks, reinforced the surrounding walls, blocked the gates, and built crisscrossing fortifications in the town, turning the entire Dragon King Shop into a heavily guarded fortress.
At this time, all sides of the Dragon King Shop had been exposed to the attacking troops of our army, and the remnants of the enemy were scattered in several villages to take care of themselves. The Qiu Qingquan Corps, which had come from the north, was blocked by Huaye's Third and Eighth Columns in the southwest of Qixian County, and Huang Baitao's corps, which had come to the aid of Xuzhou, had not yet arrived.

On the afternoon of July 1, Wang Bicheng ordered the 17th and 18th Divisions to secretly move to the south of the Dragon King Shop to carry out excavation operations.
At 23:00 in the evening, with Wang Bicheng's order, the general attack began. Under the cover of fierce artillery fire, all columns of our assault corps directly attacked the enemy's nest Dragon King Shop.
To the southwest, the demolition team members of the Fifty-first Regiment of the Sixteenth Column Seventeenth Division quickly piled packs of explosives under the earthen walls of the defending enemy. After a loud noise, the earthen wall was blown open by an opening more than two inches wide, and the enemy fell in large numbers. Our commandos jumped out of the trenches, broke into the walls, and destroyed the remnants of the enemy with a few grenades.
While the six columns broke through the enemy's last line of defense, the friendly neighboring troops also attacked the Dragon King Shop from different directions.
Ou Shounian originally thought that with the strong fortifications, he could hold out for at least three days, but he did not expect to be overwhelmed after only three hours. Hordes of enemies ran wildly, crowding several of the town's main streets.
Suddenly, four enemy tanks drove out of the center of the street and drove straight toward the east gate, and more than a dozen enemy soldiers who had no time to dodge suddenly died under the tank tracks.
Many of the commanders and fighters of the Fifty-second Regiment saw tanks for the first time. When the first tank arrived at the east gate, rows of straw bags filled with soil were blocked at the door, and the tank rushed to the gatehouse like a madman, and although it collapsed a corner of the gatehouse, it failed to knock the gatehouse open, so it had to turn around and flee south.
Several other tanks were already surrounded by our regiment, and soon two were destroyed, one was damaged, and only the one fleeing south was still crawling.
At this time, Qiu Yongxin, the commander of the second platoon of the Eighth Company, jumped on the deck next to the tank's tracks. The cunning enemy spun the tank 360 degrees sharply, sweeping him down the tank with the barrel of the gun.
