Since 2000, Hitachi Astimo has delivered approximately 57,000 cheating brake parts and about 10 million non-compliant suspension system parts to 16 auto and motorcycle manufacturers. Among them, the violation related to brake performance is "falsification of data in brake tests". But Hitachi Astimo claims that these substandard products do not currently raise safety issues.
Toyota Motor, Nissan Motor, Honda, Suzuki, Mazda, Subaru, Daihatsu Industries and other auto companies said they would independently investigate safety, Kyodo News Agency reported. It is reported that Toyota Motor and Mazda have completed their investigations and believe that there is no need for a recall.
Hitachi Astimo is a joint venture between the Hitachi Group and Honda Motor to integrate four suppliers. The company has set up production research and development and sales bases in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chongqing and other cities in China.
