IT Home December 23 news, according to the Yuchai machine public number news, on December 21, Yuchai in Beijing Institute of Technology officially released China's first commercial vehicle hydrogen-fired engine. The engine ignition achieves stable operation, marking a key step in Yuchai's mastery of the key technologies for large-scale and low-cost utilization of hydrogen energy. This is another milestone achievement in the application of hydrogen energy after the release of yuchai's hydrogen fuel cell, and it is also an important step for China's domestic gas turbine industry to promote power transformation in the context of the hydrogen energy era.

IT Home learned that the successfully ignited YCK05 hydrogen-fired engine adopts a number of advanced special technologies such as high-pressure multi-point inlet air injection technology, high-efficiency low-inertia turbocharging technology, high-efficiency thin combustion technology, etc., and comprehensively optimizes and upgrades the subsystems such as the whole machine structure, combustion and gas distribution, overcoming the technical problems such as easy tempering and explosive shock of the hydrogen-fired engine, which can be widely used in bus, municipal, sanitation, logistics and distribution scenarios.
Professor Sun Bogang, a professor at Beijing Institute of Technology who witnessed the success of the ignition, said that the thermal efficiency of the YCK05 hydrogen-fired engine is comparable to that of hydrogen fuel cells, and even better than some fuel cell products on the market, which not only has high hydrogen energy utilization efficiency, but also solves the mileage anxiety of pure electric systems, and the time for hydrogen charging is shorter than that of fuel vehicles, once the technology is mature and the infrastructure is perfect, the promotion of hydrogen-fired engines will usher in explosive growth.
It is reported that in order to better meet customer needs, Yuchai has carried out technical research and reserves in light, medium and heavy hydrogen-fired engines. Yuchai will make full use of its advantages in the research and development of internal combustion engines, do a solid job in the process of transforming hydrogen-fired engine development technology into large-scale commercial technology, form a relatively complete set of development, testing and use of standard systems, and open up new areas for the national "double carbon" goal.
