Chiang Kai-shek's three generals, who led the uprising before liberation, abandoned the dark and surrendered to the light, and were awarded the rank of general

In the 1930s and 1940s, after a arduous and remarkable War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, the two armies of the Kuomintang and the Communists fought against each other and won the final revolutionary victory. But soon after, civil war broke out, the people had to suffer from war, and the voices of peace were heard one after another.

The civil war is a matter that many people do not want to see, especially when the war gradually became clear in the later period, some senior generals of the Kuomintang army began to surrender and oppose the water, in order to reduce people's suffering and let the dawn come quickly.

Today, the Historian Will Introduce You to the Three Founding Generals, who were once generals of Chiang Kai-shek and who once aimed their guns at our army, but then they all put down their guns and became friends of our party. Their names are Chen Mingren, Tao Zhiyue and Dong Qiwu.

1. Chen Mingren

Chen Mingren, born in 1903 in Hongyuan Township, Hunan Province, was a veteran of the Whampoa Military Academy and a cadet of the Whampoa Military Academy. He has successively served as a brigade commander, division commander, army commander, corps commander and chairman, and is known as "tiger general and naked son".

Chen Mingren, just like his name and name, he was "bright" and "benevolent" and "good", and finally abandoned the dark and surrendered to the truth, becoming an uprising general, leading his troops to the light.

Chen Mingren was very brave in battle, once personally serving as the captain of the death squad, holding a gun in his hand, pinning a grenade in his waist, braving the enemy's artillery fire, and bravely rushing forward. Especially in the War of Resistance Against Japan, he showed great bravery.

In 1926, in the battle between Chiang Kai-shek, Bai Chongxi and Sun Chuanfang, Chiang Kai-shek was in a passive situation of being surrounded. Chen Mingren braved the difficulties, went into battle lightly, commanded the troops to alleviate the crisis, and was looked at differently by Chiang Kai-shek from then on.

After the surrender of Japan, Chen Mingren was sent by Chiang Kai-shek to Shanghai, Nanjing and other places to serve as garrisons. In 1944, Chen Mingren led his troops to participate in the battle on the Sino-Burmese border in western Yunnan, at which time as a military commander he inflicted heavy losses on the Japanese army. He played a national integrity and a proud spirit.

In June 1949, our army surrounded Changsha. In July, Chen Mingren acted as chairman of Hunan Province, commander-in-chief of appeasement in Hunan Province and commander-in-chief of security. After analyzing the situation at that time and engaging in an ideological struggle, in August, Chen Mingren, Cheng Qian, and others announced an uprising in Changsha, Hunan Province.

In this way, our army did not need one soldier and one artillery, avoided the occurrence of war, and won the support of the common people. And this credit belongs to Chen Mingren, who contributed to the peaceful liberation of Hunan, which can be described as indispensable.

In September 1955, when the ranks were conferred, the motherland certainly did not forget them. Chen Mingren was awarded the rank of general and was awarded the Order of the People's Liberation Army of the First Class.

In May 1974, Chen Mingren died of cancer at the age of 71.

2. Tao Zhiyue

Tao Zhiyue was born in 1892 in Ningxiang County, Hunan. He has served as a division commander, a military commander, a commander and other positions.

Tao Zhiyue grew up with good family conditions, was very smart and studious, and received a good education. In that turbulent era, he felt that abandoning his pen was the best choice, and he was admitted to the Third Middle School of the Army, the Baoding Army Officers' School, and the League. During this time, his thinking underwent a great transformation, and he participated in revolutionary activities with people who also had revolutionary ideals.

Later, Tao Zhiyue was very brave in the battle with the warlords Zhang Jingyao and Wu Peifu, and his command ability was very outstanding, and he was promoted and favored by Chiang Kai-shek. However, because he was not a concubine of Chiang Kai-shek, he was often ostracized.

In the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, As a military commander, Tao Zhiyue led officers and men to kill the enemy bravely, did not hesitate to face the enemy, stubbornly resisted, and won the reputation of "famous anti-Japanese general" .

On September 25, 1949, as the commander-in-chief of the Xinjiang Garrison, Tao Zhiyue took the overall situation as the most important thing and responded to the call of our party to peacefully revolt. He issued a telegram and Xinjiang was peacefully liberated.

In 1955, Tao Zhiyue was awarded the rank of general and was awarded the Liberation Medal of the First Class, and died of illness in Changsha in December 1989 at the age of 90.

3. Dong Qiwu

Dong Qiwu was born in 1899 to a poor family in Hejin County, Shanxi. Poor children have long been in charge, and Dong Qiwu was particularly sensible when he was a child, helping his parents to work and honoring their parents.

Although he is a child of a poor family, his parents pay special attention to the development of their children, so they support their children's reading. When Dong Qiwu was a child, he lived and studied in his grandmother's house with better conditions for several years, and studied in the private school run by his uncle. He once wrote two words of self-encouragement:

"When will the jade hide the stone, when will you meet the Bian he clan; when will you meet the floating earth, and when will you meet Mao XianWeng?"

Later, Dong Qiwu read a lot of books, and was admitted to Bin Ye Middle School with three single subjects first and total score first, and graduated with excellent results, and was then escorted to Bin Ye Vocational School. Later, he abandoned his pen and was admitted to the Cadet Corps, participated in the Northern Expedition, and finally served under Fu Zuoyi.

In 1933, in the battle to block the Japanese army in Huairou County, Beipingdong, Dong Qiwu carried forward the spirit of continuous combat, led the soldiers to fight for 15 hours in blood, and blocked the Japanese army's attack ten times.

In 1936, the Battle of Honggeltu in Suiyuan was commanded by Dong Qiwu. He not only shot down an enemy plane, but also smashed the Japanese headquarters, leaving the Japanese in a state of leaderless chaos. In the Xinkou battle, Dong Qiwu was wounded, and after a simple bandage, he continued to command the operation.

At that time, Chairman Mao called the Suiyuan War of Resistance "the forerunner of the national War of Resistance" and sent Nan Hanchen to express his condolences with his handwritten congratulatory letter and a pennant embroidered with the words "For the Imperial Insult of the Country."

Dong Qiwu was awarded the rank of general in 1955 and died in Beijing in March 1989 at the age of 90 due to illness.

In the face of the fate of the country and the great righteousness of the nation, Chiang Kai-shek's three generals, Chen Mingren, Tao Zhiyue, and Dong Qiwu, chose to lead the uprising and abandon the dark and surrender to the Light, which can be described as a very correct choice. Just as Fu Zuoyi declared the uprising, they contributed to the peaceful liberation of the motherland and were praised by the people.
