On the morning of the 18th, Ms. Yang, who lives in Yulinzhuang, Tongzhou District, brought her bruised child to the Tongzhou Branch of Peking University People's Hospital for treatment, and the convenient medical process and clean medical environment made her very emotional.
"In the past, it took at least half an hour to go to the nearest big hospital in the surrounding area, but now it takes ten minutes to ride an electric car, which is much more convenient." Ms. Yang told reporters that the opening of the new hospital has solved the big problem of medical treatment for the local people.
The reporter learned that in order to cooperate with the overall planning of the construction of Beijing's urban sub-center, Peking University People's Hospital cooperated with the Tongzhou District Government of Beijing in 2017 to set up a Tongzhou Branch in Yixian Town, covering an area of 147 acres in the first phase, with a construction area of 119,000 square meters and 800 beds.
The construction of the Tongzhou campus is characterized by trauma emergency first aid, obstetrics and gynecology, oncology, research wards, and general medicine. At the same time, it is also the only hospital under the jurisdiction of the National Health Commission and the only hospital affiliated to Peking University that is currently stationed in the sub-center of Beijing.

It is worth mentioning that the trauma emergency center of Tongzhou Campus has an independent trauma resuscitation unit, trauma ward, trauma intensive care unit, and has a perfect organizational structure and fixed medical personnel with relevant specialties. At the same time, the Tongzhou campus is actively preparing to build a national emergency medical rescue base.
Located on the southwest side of the campus with a diameter of 30 meters, the ground apron is built according to the highest load-bearing standards for helicopter emergency rescue, and a trauma treatment center covering a 500-kilometer radius of the entire Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region can be established. The Tongzhou campus will become an important trauma emergency center, providing medical support for the smooth holding of the Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games, and building an "aerial lifeline" for aviation medical rescue services in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region in the future.
In addition, the first batch of research wards of the hospital are settled in Tongzhou Campus, where high-level clinical research such as clinical trials of a series of drugs and medical devices and clinical application observation of new biomedical technologies will be carried out, contributing to accelerating the collaborative innovation of medicine and health and promoting the transformation of pharmaceutical innovation achievements.
Earlier, the "Opinions of the State Council on Supporting the High-quality Development of Beijing's Urban Sub-Center" was announced to the public, which clearly proposed to "orderly promote the rational layout of high-quality primary and secondary school education resources and medical resources in the central urban area in the urban sub-center and surrounding areas".
