In 2021, the number of pure electric products in the Audi model spectrum doubled. Audi's electrification strategy was fully implemented in 2021: at the beginning of the year, the Audi e-tron GT made its global debut, and in the spring, the Audi Q4 e-tron was launched. According to its investment plan for the next five years, Audi is accelerating its transformation into an intelligent network and sustainable high-end mobility provider.

By 2033, Audi plans to phase out the production of internal combustion engines for the global market and move toward an all-electric future. Today, Audi is accelerating the pace of transformation: In 2021, the number of pure electric models under Audi will double. This also means that Audi has put more electric vehicles on the market this year than internal combustion engine models. The four new all-electric models launched this year include not only the Audi e-tron GT quattro and the Audi RS e-tron GT, but also audi's first pure electric Q4 e-tron and Q4 Sportback e-tron in the compact market. By 2025, Audi plans to launch more than 20 pure electric models.

In the Chinese market, Audi is further deepening the transformation of electrification. Following the launch of the all-electric Audi e-tron, Audi Q2L e-tron and Audi e-tron Sportback, audi also released two domestic pure electric models based on the MEB platform in China this year - Audi Q4 e-tron and Audi's first "Roadjet land jet" model Q5 e-tron. In addition, Audi is continuing to increase investment to help the transformation of China's automotive industry. By 2024, Audi and Volkswagen Group China and joint venture partners plan to invest around €15 billion in e-mobility in China. In addition to continuing to expand its lineup of electric models, Audi will also invest in innovative technologies such as autonomous driving and automotive electronics.

Audi accelerates charging infrastructure development

In addition, with the development of electric mobility, the demand for charging infrastructure will also grow. The Volkswagen Group is expanding its charging infrastructure through strong global partnerships. In China, Audi provides a full range of charging services for electric vehicle customers, covering both home and public charging scenarios. In terms of home charging, Audi provides customers with free Audi brand charging wall boxes and professional survey and installation services, with a wall box power of up to 11kW, and can be controlled and shared with other designated car owners through Audi's exclusive App.

In terms of public charging, by the end of 2021, audi exclusive apps cover 250,000 public charging piles, providing full-process functions from search navigation to payment charging. On this basis, Audi will work with partner Camex to make an appointment to use Thermes' supercharger pile in audi's exclusive App, making a better payment experience. Caymeis will deploy more than 6,000 charging terminals in 8 key electric vehicle consumption cities across the country, achieving high-density coverage of 1 charging station within 5 kilometers of the main urban area. By 2025, the number of Kemers charging terminals is planned to reach 17,000. In addition, Audi provides one-click power-up services for electric vehicle owners, including mobile charging vehicles and door-to-door car charging. At the same time, Audi opened a 24-hour customer hotline to provide detailed and professional consulting services for electric vehicle owners.

"Vorsprung 2030" strategy

Between 2022 and 2026, Audi plans to invest around €37 billion in research and development and assets. This means that the pre-investment will increase significantly, especially in future model projects. Audi has planned an investment of around €18 billion in electrification and hybridization, further underscoring Audi's clear commitment to driving electric mobility. From 2026 onwards, Audi's new models for the world will be all pure electric models. By 2033, Audi will phase out the production of internal combustion engines for the global market.
